Ningin Round Table: Which idol looks like they’ve found the fountain of youth?

The Ningin Round Table is a feature in which we pose an Asian entertainment news-related question to Ningin writers and they give us their colorful opinions and thoughts on the matter. We recently asked our writers, “Which idol looks like they’ve found the fountain of youth?” Here’s what some of them had to say:

Ngoc Nguyen: When we think of K-POP idols who look younger than their actual age, 2NE1’s Dara automatically comes to mind. Dara is currently 27 years old, but I don’t think anyone would have doubted her if she had said she was 18 years old. Her youthful appearance can be attributed to her small face, flawless skin, and petite figure. When she paired up with SHINee, whose average age is nearly 5 years younger, to film several commercial films for cosmetic brand Etude House, she didn’t look out of place at all. Dara’s youthful appearance is mostly the reason why Etude House, who specializes in makeup for teenagers, selected her as their main endorsement model. It makes me wonder if there is a foutain of youth that only Dara knows about.

Winnie Mack: An idol who looks like he found the fountain of youth is Kim Heechul. Not only does he look young and beautiful, he has the personality of a youth. Since young, he looked cute and as he grew older he became more beautiful and handsome. Although he’s almost 30 and in the army, he does not look old at all. Even when he shaved his head, he looked young. He seems like he’s in his teens or early twenties, and it amazes me every time I thing of his age. It’s nice to see someone as youthful as him, who can joke around and make people laugh. As a youth, it’s not only about looking and feeling young, but to spread laughter around, and to not forget the importance of others.

Lisa Lui: There are quite a few idols out there that look pretty damn good for their age…and some that look even younger! One of the first people to pop into my mind is the recently discharged, Lee Jun Ki. Yes yes yes…he’s not that old, but I don’t think he looks his age either. Lee Jun Ki has been active in the industry since about 2001, and during the early years of his career sported longer hair that seemed to be popular at the time. Now, he’s 29 years old…soon to be 30 on April 17th and looking just as handsome as ever! His skin is flawless, his smile perfect, and if anything, his short hair-cut gives him a more sexy look than the boyish look he had when he first debuted. I personally don’t think he looks 30…do you?

Veronica Belkin: When I think fountain of youth, I think BoA. She has definitely found that fountain and drunk bucket loads. Because even though she is almost 26, she looks like she is 20. She has somehow managed to keep her energy and passion and her youthful appearance is extremely mesmerizing. I’m not sure how she does it, but whatever she does, it’s working very well and she should keep doing it. She’s one of those people that I can imagine aging and still looking extremely young. So maybe when she’s 40, she’ll look like she’s 30?

Ana Pastrana: In the Kpop world there are many idols that have been in the industry for awhile and while some of them look their age, or younger, there are those that look like they are aging backwards. Although JaeJoong is barely 26, yeah, not old at all! I think he found the fountain of youth. He looks the same since his debut, or even younger! Right? If you look at pictures of him from debut and compare them to his current pictures, he pretty much looks the same. His clear-milky-porcelain like skin is very pretty and gives him a fresh young look no matter what condition he is in. He is also still a playful guy at heart and very stylish, both of which keep him looking as young as ever.
