YG Entertainment is set to add a new girl group to its family later this year and although it is hinted that the girls won’t be debuting until later this summer, the girl group has caught the attention from fans and netizens.

Because not much information is known yet about this group, many are speculating that this group will have nine members and have thus dubbed them YG Girls Generation. In addition, rumor has it that currently, there are 10 fantastic trainees training for this group and prior to the group, the group will be whittled down to either 8 or 9 members. Yang Hyun Suk himself has already indicated that there will be more than 7 members in the group.

Official members of the group are currently Yuna Kim and Kim Eun Bi, but an official from YGE stated, “We have not finalized anything about this new group. The number of its members and each individuals will be revealed once everything is finalized.”

People often compare 2NE1 to SNSD and the battle was tight last time, and now YG wanna produce another “GG 2.0” I’m amused. This is getting interesting smile


Kim Yuna, the figure skater? hmm..now she wants to try out being a kpop idol? o.o or maybe it’s someone else with a the same name lol but anyway I don’t think they should call then “YG’s Girls Generation” because YG produces unique groups that are a lot different than other groups. 


More than 7 ? Hmmm hope its 8 and not over 9 .

I’m excited, but i don’t like how it’s being called the YG version of SNSD just because it may have 9 members. 9 members are a good idea because they can be split 3-3-3 for choreography and I think that’s how companies view it :\ Hopefully, their sound will be totally different from SNSD so people won’t compare the two so much

If they have 9 group members, people are gonna label them as copying SNSD ;__;


...Kim Yuna...a kpop idol? I get that she was an Olympic star and all, but...all right then. And yay for Kim Eun Bi! She sounded great with TOP in “To Pretend As If I’m Okay.” ^^
On the flip side… Why in God’s name would you want to be a second version of Girls’ Generation? First of all, 2.0? That’s a little insulting to everyone. It’s not fun to have to live under another’s shadow from even before your debut. And Girls’ Generation? Really? You think YGE would go for a concept like that?
They’re just a large female group. That’s all they are, and we cannot say anything other than that until they debut.


looking forward to the group..but i hate how they compare groups to other groups....cant a group be its own?


woah! can’t wait to see them! But.. i don’t like kpop stars to be compared to other kpop idols… i mean, idols should have their own style.
