Summer is coming, which means it’s time to enjoy the hot scorching weather and go places. And if you were itching to go somewhere in Asia for the summer and wanted to visit some amusement parks, then you should check out this post!

Ocean Park Hong Kong

When you think of summer, you think of hot scorching temperature and you feel like you want to just dive into a nice pool of water to cool off. Have you ever considered Ocean Park Hong Kong? Located on the southern part of Hong Kong, it is the most popular tourist destination in Hong Kong, with two areas - The Summit and The Waterfront. There are also many attractions, such as tanks full of different species of fish as well as dolphins.

Everland Korea

In South Korea, there are quite a few amusement theme parks and one such theme park is Everland, which 2PM endorses (remember their haunted house ads?) Everland stands as South Korea’s largest theme park. There are five sections within the theme park as well as Caribbean Bay (don’t you love when your favorite idols promote amusement parks?). It’s somewhat akin to Disneyland in the fact that there are different ‘themes’ within the park as well. But I’m pretty sure when summer hits, you’ll want to soak yourself up in Cabi Bay, right? Oh Cabi Cabi, you’re hottest hottest.

Tokyo Disneyland

Who says that you can’t go to other Disneylands in the world? Tokyo Disneyland was created in the same image as Disneyland in California and Walt Disney Magic Kingdom. However, it’s not owned by The Walt Disney Company, so it’s just a little different, with a few different attractions. But besides, wouldn’t it be fun to go to a Disneyland that’s different from the ones in the States? I think it would be a very interesting experience!

Lotte World Korea

Located in Korea, when you visit Seoul, you best pay a visit to Lotte World. Why? It’s only the world’s largest indoor theme park (open year-round) and even has an outdoor amusement park (Magic Island). If you get bored with all the rides, no worries - there are many other venues like shopping malls, hotels, sports facilities, and movie theaters in Magic Island. If I ever go to Korea, I would like to see Lotte World - it’s also a favorite of your KPOP idols.

Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios may have several theme parks in the States, but there is also one in Singapore, located within Resorts World Sentosa. There are different “themed zones”, including Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar. In addition, it is said to be a “one-of-its-kind theme park in Asia”, meaning that it’s the most unique one there is. Or so the makers say. Perhaps you should really check out this amusement park if you ever make your way to Singapore.

Happy Valley Beijing

Located in Beijing, this is a chain of 4 amusement parks (Chengdu, Shanghai, Shenzhen) and styled similar to Disneyland. There are more than 40 rides, with 10 extreme rides, and 7 screens within an IMAX theater. With 6 different themed zones, Happy Valley focuses on quite the mythical aspect, like Aegean Sea, Lost Maya, Atlantis, and Shangri-La. There’s also the Water-Splashing Festival, which seems perfect during the summer.

Sunway Lagoon Malaysia

Of course during the summer, one would expect to go to a water theme park to cool down and so forth, right? Sunway Lagoon contains a water park as well as a dry park (like Knotts Berry Farm here in California). The water park is quite the place to be and is great for family outings or outings with your friends. And if you don’t want to be in the water too much, you can always head over to the exhilarating rides found in the dry park.

Certainly, if you don’t live in Asia, you have to keep the cost of airplane tickets in mind. But for those of you going to Asia this summer, perhaps you should mark down one of these theme parks as one of your destinations.
