To keep a fit and healthy life, people need to work out, but some people (including me) for some reasons don’t really like to. Some others actually think that working out is a fun activity and do it regularly. Unfortunately I belong to those that can’t get what’s so fun about sweating and tiring yourself out, and besides, I would rather use the time for other fun things.
If there are things that make me sweat, that’s when I need to run to catch my bus every morning, and…a KPOP workout! Dancing to KPOP choreographies is fun enough to make me forget about sweating and being tired. I can’t stop dancing if I still don’t get the right moves even when I’m already exhausted. If my parents scold me that I don’t use my time for something more useful, my excuse is that I don’t want to be a lazy bum who doesn’t work out at all.
I’ve compiled a list of KPOP dance routines that will get you sweat for your summer workout. Remember, it’s not about being a perfect dancer, but simply working out and having fun, so you don’t need to focus too much on every little detail of the choreography!
Block B – ‘Nanrina’
For the warming up, the ‘Gorilla dance’ of Block B’s ‘Nanrina‘ is not too complicated and it’s easy to follow. If you want to sweat more, you can try to dance powerfully to the whole choreography.
SNSD – ‘The Boys’
SNSD’s ‘The Boys‘ choreography is not a hard one either and it is suitable as a simple workout. The difficulty level goes slightly up at the third verse when the dance gets more powerful (Hyoyeon’s part is my favorite!).
Teen Top – ‘Crazy’
Now it’s getting more challenging with a higher level of choreography! Teen Top’s ‘Crazy‘ requires more body movement. The leg movement at the chorus can be the first practice for the next dance.
Sunny Hill – ‘Prince and Princess Charming’
In Sunny Hill’s ‘Prince and Princess Charming‘ you can find almost the same leg movement as in Teen Top’s ‘Crazy’ so if you already have that part down pat, you just need to learn the rest of the choreography such as the side-step shuffle.
Infinite – ‘Paradise’
As we know, Infinite always has cool dance choreographies for their songs, and ‘Paradise’s is not an exception. Your effort to dance as energetic as them will surely make you sweat!
T-ara – ‘Lovey Dovey’
T-ara’s ‘Lovey Dovey‘ is basically all about shuffling. Now that you’ve learned that leg movement from Teen Top’s ‘Crazy’ and the side-step shuffle from Sunny Hill’s ‘Prince and Princess Charming,’ you just need to learn the ‘running man’ shuffle. Learning that part is challenging enough!
SHINee – ‘Sherlock (Clue + Note)’
SHINee’s ‘Sherlock (Clue + Note)‘ has an impressive choreography. The ‘I’m so curious’ part is distinctive, or as Youtubers Simon and Martina call it, the ‘Russian peacock‘ dance.
MBLAQ – ‘Run’
Now this one is amazing! MBLAQ has definitely impressed me with their ninja choreography for ‘Run,’ and it is surely a fun one to be used a KPOP workout. From Lee Joon’s heavy breathing right at the end, you can see how exhausting the choreography is if you dance with so much power!
EXO-K – ‘MAMA’
EXO-K’s ‘MAMA‘ has a trendy and powerful choreography which is made by world-renowned choreographer Lyle Beniga, who has previously worked for films like ‘Fame’ and ‘Boogie Town.’ The dance break requires a lot of leg movement that would make a good workout.
B.A.P – ‘Power’
Rookie group B.A.P continues to impress everyone with their ‘Power‘ comeback. The whole choreography makes a good workout. It features a lot of splits, the chorus with its jumps, and the spray dance that is not less challenging. Even the ‘everybody say hate you’ part will train your arm if you do it a lot!
Have fun working out and tell us which choreography is your favorite!
