In celebration of the second Visit Korea Year, the committee for the occasion is holding their second 2012 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival!

In the online preliminary round, fans have been entering their videos of their cover dances, recorded in the most unexpected locations. Each day, the number of entries submitted increases, coming from more than 34 countries all over the world! The more creative the participants are, the more hits and “likes” their videos receive!

To enter a cover video, entrants can read the guidelines and find other information here. This is also the website where the videos are submitted. You have until the end of June to submit an entry, because the overseas local competitions, which are held in 10 different countries, last from July through September for the winners of the online preliminary round. Last year, the members of SHINee were judges in the overseas competition in Russia, participating in a flash mob while there (link).

The winners of the local competitions will get a chance to go to Korea for the final competition, expected to be on September 21st in Gyeongju.

The Visit Korea Committee will invite the winners of the overseas competitions to visit scenic tourist attractions in Korea, offer opportunities to experience Korean culture, and even give them the chance to meet with their favorite artists. Sounds exciting!

It sounds confusing, but all you need is a few friends, a K-Pop dance to cover, and a creative video to submit!

One thing i really love abt Korea is this, they’re always promoting for their country in a big event


I think I remember hearing of this last year! Anyways sounds super cool and I’m glad that they are doing it again. I, unfortunately, have no dancing talent what so ever! lol
