Actress Michelle Yeoh’s upcoming film, “Cooktales,” which is filmed in Thailand but will be in the English language, is almost through with production! The expected release date is anywhere from the end of 2012 to early 2013.
“Cooktales” is described as an “epicurean coming-of-age tale of an amateur cook who has to deal with the twisted fate of his family.” It seems that Super Junior-M’s Henry Lau is the lead in the film, playing the character Mark.
Other members of the cast include Chin Han, who plays Mark’s father, Chang Tseng, Aden Young, Lori Tan Chinn, Lika Minamoto, and Bobby Lee.
About the movie, Michelle mentioned that, “Three generations of men are separated for pursuing their own ideals. I am the woman who tries to bring them back together. The background of the story is a cooking show.” She also said that “Everyone else worked very hard to learn cooking - chopping, dishes, dumplings, noodles, etc., I just relax and taste their food.”
I can’t wait for this movie, especially since it’s in English, and because it’s about food! The cast has worked hard, learning how to cook, filming in the heat of Bangkok, and patiently waiting through delays in the film production. I’ll be looking forward to seeing “Cooktales!”
