As gross as it sounds, a 63-year-old Korean woman was eating a cooked squid (including the internal organs) when she felt a pricking pain in her mouth.

At the hospital, she found out that the pain came from the squid’s live “spermatophores,” or “sperm packages.” It seems that even though the squid had been cooked (parboiled), the spermatophores were still active.

I don’t know about you, but this makes me never want to see a whole squid again…
