With so many artists coming back with new albums you’re bound to see a bunch of MVs, but it’s hard to pick out which MV is THE BEST. So, here are 9 of the best MVs (in my opinion) from the first half of 2012.
B.A.P - “Power”
For their MV, most of the guys have gotten rid of their bleached blond hair and are now going for an “end of the world,” futuristic look, separating them from other groups. And this MV is just as intense as their debut song “Warrior,” but the new concept makes it that much better. In addition to the cool new concept, the guys show off their incredibly fierce and powerful new dance moves that are perfect for this song.
SISTAR - “Alone”
What makes this MV one of the best is that it doesn’t shy away from being sexy and has a fairly simple set, letting you keep all of your focus on the choreography - not to mention it was filmed in Las Vegas. While sitting at the bar the girls just exude strength and sexiness. And let’s not forget the amazing (and extremely easy to do) “crane” dance that shows off their gorgeous legs.
Xia Junsu - “Tarantallegra”
At first I didn’t really have an opinion about this MV, but after watching it a few times I was able to see all of it’s awesome-ness. With Junsu in a variety of outfits and different hairstyles, you can’t deny that he looks amazing. Throw in that ridiculously hot choreography, and it is definitely one of the best. And lets not forget that he is, for the most part, shirtless in one scene. BONUS!
TaeTiSeo - “Twinkle”
Obviously not what we were expecting after seeing the concept teasers, but that what makes it so great. With the girls exuding a strong and beautiful aura, how can you not love the MV from SNSD’s first sub-unit. And let’s not forget that EXO-K’s Kai, Chanyeol, Sehun, and Baekhyun managed to join in on the fun - and that should be enough of a reason to watch it over and over again.
U-KISS - “DORADORA”
What makes this MV unique, and one of my favorites, is it’s “Inception-like” feel, with most of the members seen walking on the walls, laying on a bed and sitting on chairs in what looks to be a rotating room. How they pulled it, we don’t really know. But you’ve got to admit, it’s pretty cool. And we can’t forget the awesome black-light graffiti at the beginning of the MV.
f(x) - “Electric Shock”
With another incredible MV from f(x), they seem to be setting the standard a little high for other groups this summer. Not to mention, all of the girls look amazing in their spunky clothes against that electrifying background. And with over 11 MILLION views on Youtube, it must be pretty good, right?
MBLAQ - “It’s War”
An action and drama packed music video should be nothing short of what you’d expect from MBLAQ. With Lee Joon and Thunder as the main actors this mini movie of a MV, both guys are seen fighting over a girl that they have fallen in love with. Add in a good bit of fighting and guns, with a little blood mixed in to make it that much more interesting.
EXO - “MAMA”
As one of the most anticipated rookie groups, it should be no surprise that their MV made the list. Even though the openings are a little odd, the actual MV is quite impressive. Featuring the signature, powerful Gregorian chant and strong vocals you can only expect the choreography to be just as good. And, guess what? It is! So enjoy BOTH versions of the MV as a bonus.

Wonder Girls - “Like This”
It’s a REAL flash mob!! What’s not to love?! What starts out as a fairly normal MV, the girls slowly get the crowd to dance with them in the middle of a square. Looks like fun, right? I bet you are now wishing you were one of the 1,000 applicants to be in the MV. And based on the teaser that they released beforehand, it wasn’t an easy feat to put together - considering it took 112 days to plan, 500 staff members, and the 300 background dancers. AMAZING!
Did your favorite make the list? What other MVs are “the best”?
