On July 3rd, Super Junior held their press conference for their sixth album, “Sexy, Free & Single“. During which the guys revealed that they will be taking turns serving in the military.

During the event, Shindong stated, “Once, all the members discussed our plans for military enlistment all day. Should we all enlist at once, one at a time, half and half, we considered a lot of options and decided that it’s best to go one at a time in order to maintain Super Junior.”

Yesung chimed in, “I’m curious about what will happen after Leeteuk hyung goes, but it’s a relief that no matter who leaves for the military, we’ll maintain our team. I think it’s good that the other members can still be active despite one or two enlisting.”

Eunhyuk added, “I’d like for Super Junior to exist for a long time. No matter what individual members do, they’ll still be part of Super Junior.”

Finally, Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk, who will be enlisting later this year, commented, “I think [military service] will be my biggest homework assignment and longest ’schedule’, but it’s not important when I go to the army, it’s important that I go and finish so I can return and be part of the next album. I’ll return and show a splendid side of myself.”

Good idea!!! But it would take a longer time for them to be together again! But anyway, my biases in suju are in SJM so I can still enjoy seeing them before they enlist!!!


I think this is a good idea so we don’t have to miss super junior, but I don’t want leeteuk to go :( really gonna miss him :(

Heechul’s enlistment prepared me in dealing with the loss. Rewatch everything with Super Junior in it to deflect from the absence. And also because Heenim is a boss and updates his twitter with pics of him looking as young as ever. It’s okay guys. One goes then the others come back. If they all left at once....that would kill us. Thats like suddenly waking up missing a body part. It’s gone but you keep forgetting and you have to learn to function without it. Prostetic limbs (i.e other groups) can only serve as a replacement for your missing body part.


Right I agree I think they should go in pairs at least to go faster. Or at least I hope Eunhyuk and Donghae go together!

I agree with you since it’s not easy to come back to the spotlight after military service. Plus, if all the members went all at once, there will be more groups coming out competing to take their top spot. 


I don’t want them to go though! Teukie don’t leave me T_T

Really shedding tears that Leetuek is leaving for military service.. T^T Even so, I find that this is a good way for them to be active. Hope to see a manlier side of Leetuek when he gets back from military service.

I think enlisting one by one is a good idea though.


that is quite sad but i really think they should go in all at once. imagine the big comeback they would have!! id rather wait for all of them for two years rather than continuously have members missing and not really having the feel for the group as it should have.

Awee Leeteuk thinks the albums are more important than the enlistment? I can’t wait for him to come back. ;~; All of them. I somewhat wish they all went together so they could all come back together. Seeing them all go one by one is pretty painful to see. So will all at once but they’d be back all together too. T_T

That mandatory enlistment thing sucks! I wish Leeteuk didn’t have to leave! I think them enlisting one or two at a time is better than having them all leave for 2 years. I’m going to go crazy when Kyuhyun, Donghae and Siwon leave :(

One at a time is better, at least if this member go, we can still see other members & since they’ll be missing 1 per 2 yrs so I’ll take it as that member is going for a break!!

It’s what I expect. SM wouldn’t be dumb enough to let to many members go at the same time - SuJu is their money maker. It’s still a sad topic though. I’ll be heartbroken when Eunhyuk and Donghae go :(


i’m glad that they’re taking turns but it’s still a sad topic to talk about. but once everyone’s done and this military training is gone and over their heads, everyone will be together at least smile i’m going to miss each and every one of them as he leaves but smile like a fool when he comes back


I’m kinda glad that they’re doing it one by one because there will still be members left promoting and stuff. But at the same time, I feel sad because this means that it might be a long time before the group is complete once again. D:


I’m going to miss each one when they leave T^T


Omfg I’m gonna lose it when Teukie goes in. ;_;
