Shaving one’s head isn’t always easy…especially for a woman. 2NE1’s Dara knows that very well as she cried when she recently shaved part of her head for her recent hairstyle.

During a recent interview at the YG Entertainment Headquarters, Dara confessed that she cried at first, saying, “When I was getting my head shaved, the feeling of sorrow just crept up and I started tearing… I just did it without thinking through it for we decided that a new transformation was needed while in the midst of rehearsing. It was my first time getting my head shaved and I thought to myself that maybe this is how men who shave their heads to go off to the military feel.”

CL revealed, “At first, the stylist unni told me to do it. I was going to do it at first but I just couldn’t get myself to go through with it. Seeing Dara unni cry, my heart was heavy… I was going to do it at first, but I was scared of looking too strong so I had nominated the pretty Dara unni.”

Dara assures everyone though that the look no longer bothers her, stating, “My hair grows fast so this is already the third time I’ve had to get it shaved. Now I don’t have any lingering emotions about it.”

In addition to the interview, Dara updated her me2day on July 7th with another one of her edited selcas (below) writing: “Buzz Cut Dara Breaking News!!! To those restless Blackjacks, you guys can relax now and wait for 2:01pm~! Hehehe bonus! This picture…is when Dara first encountered the hairdresser and having a mental breakdown as she was getting her hair shaved…!! Ziiiing~ It feels kinda strange…do you guys think it suits me..? Does it?!? +.+”

Personally I’m loving this hairstyle on Dara. I think she looks beautiful with it (and well…she looks gorgeous in just about everything), but considering all of the crazy hairstyles she’s had before, I wasn’t entirely surprised. I would have been much more surprised with CL in this haircut.

No girl would want to shave her hair. But Dara is amazing as she rocks the hairstyle!

I really love her hairstyle!! but I would cry too, I love my hair, it would break my heart to shave it of!


I can feel her sowwor. My 1st thought seeing her this way was “omg, this looks so strange”, but now I think it fitts her quite nicely and with or without half her head shaved - she’s still so pretty! =)


It’s terrible getting a hairstyle that you don’t want, but personally I love this look on Dara.

i was a bit shocked when i first saw her teaser photo, but i think she looks amazing (like always). =)


I remember when I saw the teaser photo and I was commenting on how brave she was for going through with that. I don’t think I could ever do this - I love my hair so much and it took me years to grow it long. It may just be hair to some people, but it defines you and changing it changes your appearance and how other perceive you. I don’t blame Dara at all - I would have been bawling as well.

But I honestly think Dara pulls this look off amazingly. I think CL could have done it too, but Dara has a softer side to her that makes this look seem more modelesque. 


it reminds me of GD’s seaweed hair LOL it looks good on you Dara. I dont think many people could pull this look off
