In just its first day of release, the single sold 138,000 copies, which not only broke Kim Hyun Joong’s previous record of 72,000 copies of Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy (his debut Japanese single), but also TVXQ’s record, set back in January with Why with 133,000 copies.
It’s been speculated that thanks to Kim Hyun Joong teaming up with famous Japanese artist B’z, there was more interest. An official commented, “The response for Kim Hyun Joong’s album ‘Heat’ is explosive. Kim Hyun Joong’s Japanese popularity and the high quality producing of ‘B’Z’ have created a great synergy. We believe this is the reason for the success of ‘Heat.’”
