On Sunday, July 8th 2NE1 made quite the comeback with their new single “I Love You” on SBS‘ Inkigayo; however, it looks like the group is taking some heat for the swans and parrot that appeared on the stage with them. As a result, YG Entertainment has issued an apology.

For the comeback stage, CL stepped out onto the stage with a parrot on her shoulder and the stage had swans in the background. Although there were many impressed fans…there were also those that were outraged by the use of these animals including OhBoy! magazine’s chief editor, Kim Hyun Sung, who tweeted “I see that 2NE1 utilized swans and a parrot as props. They’re a very talented group who makes great music, but I hope they don’t do this again for their next stage.” He continued to explain that the animals may become distressed due to the unfamiliar environment and the heat emitted from the stage lights.

In response to the reactions, YG Entertainment apologized saying, “The stage was held after receiving consultation from animal experts and trainers who participated in putting together 2NE1’s stage performance. We worked to create a good performance, but if our efforts brought discomfort to viewers, we sincerely apologize. We will be sure to be more cautious in the future.”

Well, I love 2NE1. But I love animals too. I think they should be more aware of the animals’ condition before bringing them on stage. Really dangerous.

I dont think it was bad to use real animals, but CL shouldn’t move so much and move her arm so much up and down, so that the parrot could just sit their without having to flap his wings all the time because CL kept shaking her arm to much


well, I agree with that editor and many 2ne1. They can make some awesome comeback without using animals :/

As expected from 2NE1, a unique and fierce comeback.


i thought the parrot including in the performance is cool?


Actually i don’t get what’s wrong. Maybe they mean.. they don’t want the girls to utilise on.. what’s supposed to be for the stage. It’s like cheating perhaps. Either way CL is cool lol. If a parrot flew to my shoulder i’ll prolly panic the whole way @_@ And the parrot looks like it’s gonna peck my ears


the only issue i had with the performance was the parrot falling of CL’s shoulder. her jacket kept moving and the bird had a hard time staying on. it would have been better if the bird had been on her left because that arm didn’t move much - she held the mic on that side. other than that, i loved the performance. 


what is wrong with the animals, to me they didn’t look upset? seriously some people just need to get a life.


The parrot was just on CL’s shoulder and the swans were just there chillin like what’s wrong with it i don’t get it.
But the performance was amazing omg CL’s intro killed me


I haven’t watched it yet either, but if it was said okay by animal experts, I don’t think anything’s wrong. >__>


I haven’t seen it yet but since there were animal trainers and stuff I don’t see anything wrong with it
