The members of T-ara have been swept into controversy regarding their teamwork and relationship between members. The girls recently held their first independent concert in Budokan, becoming the first female Korean artist to do so. The concert was very successful, but member Hwayoung was unfortunately not able to participate to her fullest as she injured her leg from a music program.

Hwayoung was on stage either in crutches or sitting down and fans encouraged her with claps and cheers throughout the night. However, some of the T-ara members later tweeted some criticism on July 25th, angering many fans. Hyomin first wrote, “The differences in levels of determination^^, Let us all have more determination. Fighting!!!” followed by Jiyeon tweeting, “The differences in levels of determination ^^, Always be humble ^^ and sensible ^^ I applaud you, acting genius ^^”

Eunjung further added, “A position can make or break a person, but determination can make a person too. Sigh, it’s unfortunate. You have to know to take care of the people around you.” Soyeon also tweeted, “It’s a difference in dedication + manners + selflessness. Let’s be strong again today” which she later deleted.

Boram also said in response to Jiyeon’s tweet, “Clapping… clapclapclap!!” She has since deleted the tweet and also unfollowed Hwayoung.

Hwayoung stepped forward and responded to everything, saying, “Sometimes, even determination alone is not enough. At times like these, I feel upset but I trust that it’s a blessing in disguise from the heavens. God, you know everything right?”

Hwayoung’s twin sister Hyoyoung of 5dolls even came in and added, “My better half is suffering. My heart hurts. No matter what anyone else says, (Hwayoung), you can get through this” and also said “What if your face is pretty, your heart should be pretty. Is a sick person not a person? Ah it hurts me too, I want to cry. I better just go practice.”

Their agency has stated that T-ara’s accounts were hacked, but that’s highly not the case as many Twitter accounts would have had to been hacked at the same time. If these are indeed meant for Hwayoung just because she couldn’t perform due to an injury, then there’s a serious problem. It’s definitely not acceptable to bash a fellow member like that.

Plus, Boram unfollowing Hwayoung? You know that a storm is coming up ahead from T-ara.

This is not cool. Just because people are bullying her, other members of the group are supposed to back her up, not go against her.


I’m strongly against bullying and so if this is true I am truly disappointed in T-ara because they are meant to be like family! But no matter how you feel about a person you should never bully them like this, it’s just not moral. mad

Shiznit just got real. Things aren’t looking good for them. It’s things like this that makes a group disband- they need to have some communication going on and have a group talk.


Wow, that’s not good to hear. No way they were all hacked at the same time. If they were that sucks, but getting on someone’s case, especially one of your own members, because of an injury isn’t right. They need to have a group discussion or something to work things out.


It is really sad to hear such a situation, but the whole case is not truly clear yet so not going to give my opinion on this, we’ll see what happens next.


Tara is my fav girl group.... what the heck is going on with them? they were perfect as is :(

this is all bc T-ara is panicking among themselves bc of the additional of 2 member areum n dani. they worry about losing their position in the group so they get more paranoid. this is why T-ara was perfect as 7

Well I know that hacked thing sounds ridiculous, but some people would hack a bunch of accounts at the same time, but I still doubt that’s the case?


Obviously they weren’t all hacked at the same time, it’s absolutely ridiculous. I just hope what ever the CEO announces on the 30th won’t be too devastating. I like T-ara and their songs, so I hope nothing bad happens to the group. 


What the heck? That is so unprofessional of them. T-ara is losing fans, and fast.
And i agree, I don’t think they’ve been hacked.
If they don’t pull their act together, they better prepare themselves for a downwards slope in their career. -_-


I really hope not to offend anyone, but I really have trouble understanding the english translation of Korean tweets - the sentence structure and choice of words really have me struggling to understand. When they are saying ‘determination’ and ‘selflessness’ are they trying to say that she should have gone on stage and preformed even with an injury? Or are they calling her a fake and saying the injury isn’t severe enough to sit down on?

I don’t quite know how to think about this other than it’s obvious to see that a lot of pressure is on T-ara. I think they are overworked and struggling through too many changes. It’s really unfortunate that they are having tensions within the group. I don’t know anything about this story outside of this article, but if so many of the T-ara members are getting angry like this, maybe they have a solid reason? I feel bad for their member getting publicly called out like that, but I don’t think all of them would do this for no reason.
