All Reddit user luckydud13 wanted to do was share his discovery from YouTube about a particular music video that most of us here should have already watched (or at least gotten the chorus stuck in your head at least once). Though the love seems to have grown much larger than that, seeing as more and more US-based social news and gossip websites are delighted to share the piece of jewel that is PSY’s “Gangnam Style.”

On Reddit, the video post cleared 1,000 comments and gained more than 1,800 upvotes from users sharing their positive reactions to PSY’s crazy and hilarious MV. With a title of “Words cannot even describe how amazing this video is…” I have to say that I agree.

Gawker published this article the next day showcasing PSY’s amazingness from the original Reddit post. I found it funny that they describe him as an “Underground Hip Hop Artist,” which we know is wrong…but I’m sure we can forgive them for not being in the KPOP-know. Plus, the feat for PSY landing on Gawker, which is one of the most popular US media blogs, is already pretty woah itself.

PSY’s influence didn’t even stop there, as the tweets have been arriving from some pretty unexpected people:

First up is T-Pain, who seems to have stumbled on the Reddit post, tweeting the same words to his 955K+ followers:

Then it seems as though American music manager Scooter Braun (reps. names you might know like Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Asher Roth, among others) caught the Gangnam Style fever and followed soon after to tweet:

Sorry Scooter, YG beat you to it. Though could you even imagine a collaboration between the Biebz and PSY? Or even Carly Rae Jepsen? If he holds out hope, YG and PSY might call him…maybe.

(In my opinion) Cutest mention goes to Glee’s Harry Shum Jr., who quote-retweeted director Kevin Tancharoen (directed Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, etc.):

Can you say Glee cover in Season 4?

Though I have to admit, the most random tweet (as of right now) came from…Josh Groban:

Speaks for itself…mainly because it’s Josh Groban. Could his next comeback be KPOP-inspired?

And, of course, if you’re out of the loop (or can’t resist clicking stuff) the video:

So…who’s feeling like a KPOP hipster now? It’s definitely amusing to see PSY get such overseas love in the US, especially when it’s through such varied media outlets. And to think, he didn’t even try.

Thoughts?
