Earlier this year, news about Open World Entertainment’s CEO Jang sexually assaulting female trainees shocked the industry. Finally the court has made its decision and sentenced the CEO to six years in prison.
On August 10th, the Seoul Central District Court Judge Yoo Won Jae announced that the Jang was sentenced to 6 years in jail and a 40-hour sexual assault treatment program. Additionally, his file will be made available to the public in 5 years.
Prosecutors had originally requested a nine-year sentence for the Jang on July 29th even though the Jang petitioned for favorable treatment and also wrote a letter of apology prior to the Prosecutor’s request.
Back in April, Jang was taken into custody for sexually assaulting Open World Entertainment female trainees during the November 2010-March 2012 time period.
