Earlier this year, Pledis Entertainment revealed that they are working on a seventeen-member boy group that would promote in three markets and they would debut this year…but that’s been pushed to next year now.

A Pledis Entertainment representative revealed on August 16th, “We haven’t confirmed all of the members of Seventeen (tentative name) yet. We’re still working to find a balance. The group will have 17 members in total, and about 50% of them have been cast.”

They continued, “We were planing on debuting them within this year, but plans have been delayed to next year.”

As for whether or not the group will have an admission and graduation concept like their seniors, After School…the answer is no. “The 17 members will be fixed, but we are considering unit promotions on the side.”

17’s a lot


hahah i wonder how this is going to work out but it would be pretty cool!


17 is a bit much ^^” Kinda hard to focus on individual talent..how will the lines even work ._. I hope they changed it to a more creative name though^^ Anticipating! Hwaiting!

Thats too many people!!! And they are all going to be permanent members. EVne super junior dont get enough screen time. The new group will have to make their songs really long in order for every to sing.

I can’t say that they are at the top of my groups to watch out for, but I’ll give them a chance. 17 people seems a bit daunting to me, but AKB41 in Japan has a shiz load of members and they are mega successful.

And if they are going to be promoting in groups, then why not just make separate groups? If they are doing what SM did with EXO and having a subunit for China, Korea and Japan I can understand but it seems like that isn’t their intention.

In any case I’ll look forward to them with an open mind smile


Uhh yeahhh good luck with tht...wasnt there a 21 member girl group tht debuted last yr? Idk why ppl always try to copy/surpass suju or snsd...its not gonna work. Tht many members is just ridiculous. And the idea is just absurd, just cuz u have as many or more members as them doesnt mean ull be as successful
