The announcement was made by a representative from the drama on August 22nd. Apparently, the decision was made at an emergency meeting the night before and the production crew is currently looking for someone to replace her.
SBS claims that her departure is due to advertising issues. A representative stated, “The issues surrounding the departure of a T-ara member ultimately helped to promote the drama since Eunjung’s casting was mentioned around the same time. However, even if Eunjung might not hurt ratings, people still may not buy the products being advertised if she is in the drama, and in the advertisers’ opinions, it would be a waste.”
Core Contents Media, on the other hand, informed OSEN on the 22nd, “We’re not sure why there are reports [that Eunjung voluntarily dropped out of the drama]. She had no intention of dropping out, and we don’t believe she has reason to. …We’ve already received a portion of her appearance fee. She even practiced piano and her lines just yesterday… SBS hasn’t even sent in an [official report]. We’re currently figuring out what happened.”
An acquaintance also relayed these words directly from Eunjung, saying, “Last Sunday I participated in a test filming, and just yesterday I was practicing the script, so I couldn’t believe that I was leaving the drama so suddenly. I don’t think there’s anything I can do as of now. I’ll follow the decision of the broadcast station SBS and the drama staff.”
In the drama, Eunjung was cast as ‘Hong Dami’ a young woman who hopes to become a pianist and ends up in a love triangle with Yoo Jiho (Joo Jihoon) and Yoon Inha (Ji Changwook). The remaining actors will move forward with filming as planned on August 23rd.
Wow…uh…………is anyone else’s head spinning with this? What do you think of all of this?!
