Is their end near? After news seemed to died down on ex-member Hwayoung’s departure from T-ara, the frigid mood of the netizens seem to still be going strong. As a result, T-ara faced humiliation and boos by the audience at a recent concert on Jeju Island. On September 8, T-ara participated in a concert that was held in celebration of the opening of the 2012 World Conservation Congress. They put on a performance of their latest single, “Sexy Love.”

Though throughout T-ara’s performance, the audience stayed quiet, putting down their glow-in-the-dark sticks (essentially transmitting a “black ocean”). Something like this usually happens when there’s disagreement between fans of different idol groups or towards the singers themselves.

You can see/not hear much of the audience here via a fancam:

With lots of booing, some of them called out a few harsh criticism, but it’s apparent that when T-ara started performing, the audience stopped booing and stayed absolutely quiet throughout the performance. When they finished their performance, T-ara said, “Thank you,” and left the stage.

After not performing live on their comeback stage for Mnet’s M Countdown and SBS TV’s Inkigayo on September 6 and 8, it’s a bit hard to gauge what the actual response is from KPOP fans. This concert in Jeju Island was actually the first place for T-ara to perform in front of a live audience after the controversy concering Hwayoung.

Thoughts?

Black oceans are just low…

>.< I am not a T-ara fan ... but i like some of their songs and this just goes way over the line :/ Wae can’t people just let it pass already ?…
pff anyway T-ara fighting, this must be really hard on them
stupid ceo

that was so immature...they’ve been having a hard time and with the booing it just made it worse..
i undertsand with the silence i guess thats ok cuz fans need more time to think about it...but the booing was disrespectful to T-ara as they’re still recovering.

either way this ain’t ending soon…

this is so sad I feel so bad for T-ara they don’t deserve this :(

at the end of the day, there’s still a concept called respect and people need to keep that in mind. just because they were embroiled in such a huge controversy that put them in a negative light, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t people as well. i am not a t-ara fan and i didn’t keep up with everything about this controversy. but the fact that they got up on stage and performed is commendable in itself even with the current situation at hand. fans need to learn that even though you might not support them, you might not like them, and you might not care or want them on that stage, it doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve even the least amount of respect that you can give them. fans need to grow up and look outside their small little bubble. maturity is something that takes time to grasp and learn - but to the fans who acted disrespectful at this concert, i can see that they won’t be learning that concept any time soon. it’s quite disappointing really, how some kpop fans can’t demonstrate respect for the idols, whether that be in this situation or in others completely unrelated to this one.

Well, even if I am gonna be scrutinized for my next words I do believe T-Ara deserve what thy got at this concert. No matter what the real truth is, you must remember the reason for the scandal/controversy. It’s not just some simple issue but bullying a fellow member. Lets face the facts guys, T-Ara is not the first group to change members, but the first one to be accused of bullying openly. It was handled badly by the agency-no arguments there, but what did the members do? nothing, except adding fuel to the fire with the whole twitter fiasco. Get real, when all your fame and glory depends on the fans you must act accordingly, or they have to be forgiven just because they said sorry?! As their big fan before I really don’t think I can continue to cheer and support them with clear conscious, because to me it’ll be the same as supporting a school bully who said sorry just because he’s the school’s quarterback star. With greater status comes greater responsibilities, and they seem to forget that. That is not an image a true idol should have.
You may hate and bash me for my words but thats what I think, and also saying over 10000 fans are immature is a statement of maturity itself I won’comment

Actually, I think that if a person really like their idol very much, they should continue to support them. Furthermore, it’s not T-ara fault that Hwayoung have to leave the group but it’s the decision of KKS and it’s company. And nobody also know the real truth behind controversy and since it’s like over for so long, why can’t fans just let the past pass ? I mean they work hard for each and every performance. And, even if you don’t like them, you should not boo them… All idols need supporters. And a question. If this happen to your favorite idol, what will you feel and what will T-ara members felt ? And if it was you, How will you felt? Let’s just continue to support them alright ? Peace ! smile

im not being mean or anything, but i think if a controversy this big happened a while ago, you wouldnt really fanscream like crazy, probably just a shout of your bias or something. think about it. the controversy has already happened, rumors spread like wildfire and most of them were obviously fake but people made it seem realistic for people to hate on them, most of them were blamed towards CCM for giving them a bad image or whatever. its probably normal for a crowd to just stay eerie for a while since that incident.

dont really know how to explain, but probably im gonna get bashed by fans for this -.- but i wanted to make my point clear, though i do wish the fans were more supportive.

Oh come on people that’s so mean!! Enough with the disrespect! I feel so bad for them! I would have cheered!!

i dont get these fans… or.. “fans.” i mean, what the hey. these girls are having a hard time, just give them a break… its the least you can do… but NOOO. they decide to go t the concert and yeah. smh. -___-
arent fans supposed to stick by and support your idols? ive never seen such a fanbase like this before… :/

Ouch. </3 It’s been almost a month. I think it’s time to stop this. They deserve respect.

As much as I dislike T-ara, it’s only fair that I at least give them a little respect. Some fans gotta learn this too

Those people show and prove that they don’t care for the k-pop groups or the pain that might be going on ... that the only thing that really matter is the image of what a good k-pop girl group is. if the image is gone the fan are to...sad but true

Tough. It is hard being up on stage and having that feedback. This situation could have been handled so much better

This sucks. I feel bad for them..

I heard “Hwayoung” at the end zzz

Immature. Plain disrespectful. I don’t care about the Hwayoung issue, disrespect does not solve anything.

i feel so bad for them :( FU CCM!!

what maturity these people have, these fans need to grow up.

I feel bad for T-ARA. I knew something like this was going to happen. I blame CCM. If only they (the company) stayed quiet during controversy and didn’t tell all those made up stories :/

That really sucks :o

Dang, I don’t know what to say. I knew this was going to happen though

I feel bad for T-ara.  And CCM made it worse by trying to explain the “black ocean”.

I’m not 100% surprised. I really do blame CCM for pushing ahead with T-ara when they need some time to cool down. This just hasn’t been T-ara’s year, from the member changes to this controversy. I just hope they can finish this year quietly and without any more fuss.

I’m deeply disappointed in those fans. I can understand having your own opinion, but this is outright bullying. I just think these types of fans are disgraces. But what can you do when the mass population is just brainwashed into holding petty grudges?
