KARA’s Nicole Tends To Buy Meals For The ‘91 Line

KARA’s Nicole doesn’t get to hang out with the ‘91 Line male idols too often, but when she does she tends to be the one paying for their meals.

On September 14th, Nicole appeared on KBS’ Sponge with Seungyeon, Jiyoung and more. During the show, she discussed hanging out with the 91 line consisting of SHINee’s Key, 2AM’s Jinwoon, BEAST’s Dongwoon, and INFINITE’s Woohyun. However, she surprised everyone when she revealed that she would frequently pay for their meals when they would get together, since she is the only girl.

Nicole explained, “It’s because I wanted to buy something for my friends who I can’t meet often,” but the people in the studio didn’t seem to accept that answer.

@Fashcndy - I completely agree with you

I personally don’t see what the big deal is - I’ve paid for my guy friends before. I know it’s like something in the Korean culture that guys/older people should pay but it’s only once in awhile and she wants to do something for her friends. No harm in that You go Nicole! ;D

If you think about it it makes perfect sense. If,

a) She rarely gets to spend time with all of them so she doesn’t do it everyday or anything.

b) compared to the other guys who probably get to see each other more often and probably share the bill or take turns paying, Nicole pays once in a blue moon.

c) Saying “omg the guys should pay!” Is sexist. Is she dating them? If they are going out as friends, of the same age mind you, then what is the big deal?

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY Just because an idol is born in ‘91 doesn’t make them automatic members of the ‘91 line. Key started it so Key should be friends with the person. That’s how Woohyun got in. He became close with Key which in turn got all of them close with Woohyun.

I don’t accept this either! Guys should pay for girls meals! Not sexist or anything, but it is called being nice. One girl paying for all of that woooh!
