Victoria’s Secret’s new “Go East” collection contains the “Sexy Little Geisha” outfit that seems to be getting more hate then they had anticipated.

The outfit consists of floral print fabric bra cups and crotch coverings, along with matching fans and chopsticks. According the to website, the outfit is “your ticket to an exotic adventure.”

Negative reactions spurred right away, the first popping up several weeks ago on Racialicious, where Nina Jacinto criticized Victoria Secret for reducing Asia’s identity and culture. She argues that, “It’s a narrative that says the culture can be completely stripped of its realness in order to fulfill our fantasies of a safe and non-threatening, mysterious East. It’s a troubling attempt to sidestep authentic representation and humanization of a culture and opt instead for racialized fetishizing against Asian women.”

It looks… weird


Yah, I really don’t like this o.O Not only does it look a bit odd but I’m not liking the name/concept…


i think all that matters in this world is if it sells or not...looking at it, it probably won’t

well that was quite the long quote… I would say that the outfit is demeaning just because if you know what a Geisha was before today… well that says everything


i thought it was a swimming suit O.o ... i dont get ppl that make underwear ... its not like EVERY girl is gonna prance around in just their underwear ... 


It does look a bit weird. Who is actually suppose to buy this again?

they should’ve consider what others will think about it especially the asian cultures :s
