Last week, Leessang’s Gary and Gil announced that they would be going on hiatus from variety, thus leaving SBS‘ “Running Man” and MBC’s “Infinity Challenge” after cancelling the “Super 7” concert. Thankfully it seems the hiatus has ended as the two will be filming for the shows later this week and at the beginning of next.
According to allkpop, the reason the two felt they needed to withdraw from their variety commitments was because they “found it too difficult to withstand the names ‘Leessang’” and wanted to focus on their music and concerts.
However after their departure the members of each of the shows sought out to convince the two to return, and it seems to have worked as the two revealed in a statement, “…because of us, many people were getting hurt, and more than that, we didn’t want to burden our members, who’ve always been loyal and stayed beside us; though we’re ashamed and sorry, we’ll be returning to the programs.”
In conclusion, they promised, “We’ll give more music, concerts and laughs to everyone with a better attitude. Rather than asking you to trust us, we’ll work our hardest so you can. We’ll pay you back.”
Filming for “Infinity Challenge” with Gil will resume on September 29th and Gary will be participating on the October 1st filming of “Running Man”.
So glad to hear that they’ll be back!
