Bruno Mars, the talented 26 year-old American singer, will be releasing his sophomore album “Unorthodox Jukebox” on December 11th. In the meantime, he has released single “Locked Out Of Heaven” on October 1st through a live Youtube chat with fans!
Bruno Mars shares that through this album he wants to evolve as an artist. His first album, “Doo-Wops and Hooligans” was released in 2010, and was attempt to expand the success and attention he received for participating in hits “Nothin’ On You” with B.o.B, and “Billionaire” with Travie McCoy. That is the reason that his first album was heavily focused on pop music, creating popular hits such as “Grenade” and “Just The Way You Are“, the latter winning him a grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
However, through his sophomore album, Mars wants to develop his freedom as a songwriter. He shares, “This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want.”
He comments on his first album, “It was a different mind-set. Maybe that trickled off into my stuff and I didn’t really have a chance to custom-make the sounds and sonics that I wanted to do. On this one, you’re going to feel a little more me and what I stand for.”
