Actress Oh In Hye talked about the negative comments she received because of the revealing dress she wore at the 2011 Busan International Film Festival, during the latest recording for SBS‘ ‘Strong Heart‘.
She became an overnight sensation when she arrived in a dress that showed too much skin, at that time the actress was relatively unknown. Later the actress clarified that she did not have a manager nor stylist, she just wore a dress she could find without realising that the dress would gain so much attention.
During the recording Oh In Hye shared, “At the time, there were a lot of negative comments. I was especially hurt by the comments against my parents,” she also revealed some examples of those comments she received, shocking the guests on set.
Take a look at the dress that caused all those negative comments,
Other guest on this episode of ‘Strong Heart’ are Secret’s Sunhwa, Park Ki Woong, Shin So Yool, Hong Jong Hyun, Kim Jin Ah, Moon Hee Jun and Nancy Leng.
Although the dress is very revealing, I think it’s unfair to insult her parents and her, she was new and had a lot to learn, what do you think?

That is a revealing dress but nothing to go beserk about. -_- And it’s so rude to bring her parents into it.
It’s a dress. Seriously. She has a nice body, let her show it off! If my breasts looked that good, I’d probably show them off a bit more, too. Wearing a revealing dress isn’t the same as having a slutty personality.
You’ve gotta be proud of what you’ve got!

The dress is one thing but to insult her parents? That’s crossing lines
You have to be completely flatchested to wesr that dress.
She can’t blame her lack of manager or stylist for that. She has access to a mirror. This reminds me of early 2000s female pop and rap artists in America. Even though Americans are still revealing, they do it classier nowadays.

Wow, to be honest I’d NEVER wear that kind of dress in public, but that’s so common in America so I guess people shouldn’t be so mean about it, though at the same time Korea is pretty conservative, especially compared to the US.

I saw these pictures a while ago, not knowing who she was, and I just thought “Oh gosh...not classy, but not surprised”. I feel like celebrities always try to snatch the limelight in red carpet event such as these with their outfits, thats why I wasn’t surprised. However, now knowing that it’s a Korean celebrity, it’s a whole different story. This goes completely against Korean values of modesty in women. She shouldn’t be surprised that her family is insulted, since in Asian culture, if the child turns out wrong, the parents didn’t teach correctly. And just how did she even keep that on the whole night?...tape maybe…

That dress is really something but no need to be completely rude like that! She should have known she would draw criticism by wearing it. She needs to be prepared for the backlash.

I think this was just for publicity. As a foreign fan even I am well aware modesty for women is a huge thing in their culture. It’s something I never would have expected from a Korean celeb but I guess if it got people talking about her then she should be happy.
I’m not surprised her parents were insulted as well. I think it’s a bit unfortunate but this woman was clearly just thinking about her own self and not the attention it would bring to her immediate circle.
I think this could have been a beautiful dress if it was placed higher up and more decently. In all honesty I think she looks really gorgeous - incredibly hookerish, but high class hookerish. She has a great body but I can’t really fault her for being daring and trying to get publicity. But don’t pretend like the backlash isn’t expected. Negative publicity is still publicity after all.

I do think the dress is wayyy tooo revealing. But I think people insulting her parents are a bit rude…
people shouldnt diss her AND her family that much just for the dress...i mean, it would be better not to wear it, but then again, look at what the foreign stars are wearing…

I don’t agree that she should have worn that dress. At least wear something underneath it. What was she thinking? Of course that lack of modesty, especially in an Asian country, would have people criticizing her and her parents. Most people would think what did her parents teach her. Did they not teach her about modesty.
Lack of modesty brings shame to parents, what did she expect?
I’m sorry to say this, but I think she did it for the attention it would bring her. u_u
