TVXQ! was recently interviewed by Financial Times. In the interview, they discussed the concept of their current comeback with “Catch Me“, as well as the worry they first felt of promoting as a duo.

They discussed the musical transformation they wanted to achieve with “Catch Me”. Yunho shared, “For our latest promotions, we couldn’t use a song similar to “Why” like we did last time. We wanted to be a little more friendly this time, so we worked hard to use an easy melody that wouldn’t hinder our usual strength. Next year will be our 10th anniversary, so PD Yoo Young Jin was very kind to us. He told us that he wanted us to think about the general public at large.”

Along with the guidance of PD Yoo Young Jin, they made it their goal to be able to appeal to younger generations with their current comeback. “The people that used to listen to our music in elementary school are now in their 20′s. This time around, we wanted to have something that could even appeal to the elementary school students. Our choreography was created in a way that even children could follow it as well,” Yunho continued.

Changmin agreed, “The younger generation doesn’t know about the the 1st generation idols that we grew up watching. I want to become a singer who can appeal across the generations, and I want to be an example to the other idols.”

After being asked about how the departure of JYJ from the group has affected them, Changmin expressed their initial worries: “It was strange to sing a two-person song after promoting together for at least 5 years. We had to perform 25-30 songs in our Japanese tour by ourselves, so I was really worried. But I think we proceeded more carefully than usual. After we did it, we realized how the two of us could make the stage. I had confidence that the two of us could hold a long stage,” he revealed.

Their initial worries evolved into confidence, and was able to shape both Yunho and Changmin into better performers and artists.

Yunho, would you like to tell me how little kids will be able to do that choreography when 98% of the world can’t do it xD

that’s good to know they’re doing well with just two of them..
hwaiting!

They guys have accomplished a lot and I’m super proud of them! A part of me still really wants them to get back with JYJ though…

they’ve done amazing things as a duo and i’m proud of them smile

TVXQ is awesome as a duo but it would be nice to have JYJ back

Choreography elementary schoolers can follow??

I know the dance to Catch Me but you have to be extra graceful and fluid to be able to do those dances. I look sooooo stupid dancing the arm part alone. lol

I just want to hug them and let them know that they are still very popular! I came into kpop at 2011, right when TVXQ made their comeback as a duo and I loved them. I did back track and see them as DB5SK, and while I do hope one day they can be together, I love TVXQ as they are and I want to support them in every way! You guys are legends for a reason!!!! <3

I want them to be with JYJ though~~ So they can be together again.

they shouldn’t worry >.< theyre still dominating asia with their awesomeness~

i’m proud of these guys and i’m sure then can make it with just the two of them. but forever hoping that they’ll be back together with jyj smile
