China celebrates 60th anniversary with pretty fireworks

Recently, China held a massive celebration at Tiananmen Square to commemorate it’s 60th year of communist rule. And of course, there were fireworks and lots of them. Orchestrated by Zhang Yimou (director of the critically acclaimed House of Flying Daggers), this fireworks display is bigger and better than ever. Even the ones at the Beijing Olympics 2008 shrink back in fear when compared to these. More »

With 2009 coming to a close and 2010 on the horizon, I couldn’t help but think to myself: self, what kind of subjects have they not yet made an anime for (at least, in the last several years)? And that led me to come up with a humble little list. I mean, if they can make spinning tops and collecting cards exciting, what else could they do?
