Earlier today, Facebook disabled their Facebook Connect feature. This means you will no longer be able to login with your Facebook account. If you have not converted your Facebook Connect account to a Mixr account, then unfortunately it’s too late as you will not be able to login with that account anymore. We just received notice today that on February 1st, Facebook is planning to phase out parts of their Facebook Connect feature. Unfortunately, this may disable the Facebook Connect login system that we use on this site and on other sites in the Mixr network. For this reason, we ask that all Facebook Connect users convert their Facebook Connect accounts to Mixr Network accounts. Hey sorry everyone, looks like we were down for the better part of the morning and early afternoon. Six hours in total according to our logs. We had a server upgrade last night which supposedly went well according to our technicians, but apparently something went wrong. The problem is fixed for now and we’ll be adding some redundancy to prevent it from happening in the future. More »

We’re currently in the process of replacing our old servers with new ones across our entire network. These new servers are faster than our old ones and can handle more users at once so they also represent a significant upgrade in page loading speed. The process of doing this is somewhat complicated and will require multiple maintenance windows and thus multiple periods where our sites will be down. The first such window is coming up at 1am - 4am EST (11pm - 2pm PST). The second one is Saturday morning 10am - 1pm EST (6am - 9am PST). In both cases, the total downtime should be about 30mins - 2 hours depending on whether any complexities arises. There are more upgrades beyond the two mentioned, but they shouldn’t result in any downtime or lag. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and we will do everything we can to minimize the downtime.
