Tatami Galaxy moves fast. The narration was just near impossible to follow and kept all my concentration to follow the first episode. It also made whatever they said seem less important. It was an interesting show though. More »

Bambino! is actually a manga about a college student who wants to open up his own restaurant. The manga isn’t actually about spaghetti, but it is a big part of the story. It starts off with Ban Shogo working in a famous Italian restaurant where he struggles to keep up with the daily grind. You can also learn some Italian while you read it. And the food looks delicious, I always get so hungry whenever they describe the dishes in cooking manga. More »

Some of the spring season anime has already begun. Most of it looks pretty boring though. The only series I’m really interested in is Arakawa Under the Bridge. I have watched Heroman and B Gata H Kei though, and didn’t like them. Heroman might get better, but I only watched B Gata H Kei because of the intriguing description. More »

From what I could gather through Babelfish and what other people are saying, people will be able to watch the Black Rock Shooter anime by streaming it. The voice actors for BRS and Dead Master have also been decided on. There’s also new merchandise available, specifically a figma and nendoroid for BRS. More »

Some people didn’t like the first episode of Gundam Unicorn’s OVA claiming that previous OVA’s had a much better art style or animation. Or that the story was too similar to previous Gundam series and had no character development. One thing I’m sure anyone could agree on is how good the soundtrack is. The OST has a bunch of songs that weren’t played in the first episode. More »

The seventh Durarara DVD is going to be released on August 25th! Celebrate? Hell no. Alongside the episode that will be appearing on April 8th (Episode 13) there will be an exclusive never-before-seen side story from the never-before-recreated original novel. I want to see it so bad I feel like I have to pee. Shucks. More »

ZUN and his recreation of characters is amazingly interesting. Aya now has elf ears and new longer and curly hair (WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR FAVORITE NEWS REPORTER!?). The newest installment for the Touhou series is similar to Th9.5 StB (Shoot the Bullet). More »

There is an anime for Arakawa Under the Bridge series coming out, but I read some of the manga to get a taste of what it’s like. It’s really weird. While it never made me laugh out loud or anything, I had a stupid grin plastered on my face the whole time I was reading this. More »

It’s March. Sakura trees are blooming or soon to be blooming in Japan around this time of year. While the US has two months left till our Sakura Festival starts I’d like to commemorate this month official Perfect Cherry Blossom month! Yes, Touhou. More »

I’m not too familiar with any Chinese manhua (Chinese manga) — the only one I have ever read is Ravages of Time. Manhua is pretty much Chinese comics. I always thought Korean comics were called the same thing, but I recently noticed that they’re actually called manhwa. Not a big difference, they’re all comics either way. I don’t know why manga seems to be the most popular, but Ravages of Time is easily better than most manga I have read. The artwork is incredibly detailed and fits the story very well. The fight scenes would also look amazing if they were animated. I had a problem with the story though. More »

Summer Wars is finally out, and I’m so excited to watch it. I’ve managed to resist watching the low quality versions floating around on the internet because I wanted to watch the movie at its best. I heard people compare this to the first Digimon movie, something I need to rewatch some day. I’ve managed to avoid spoilers for this long, just to be able to enjoy this movie even more. More »

I recently stumbled across this song today and thought it was really good. I can’t read the name, but it’s titled “Tada Rin Toshite”. The album it belongs to is called Starry Sky Logic. It got me interested enough to look up more songs StudioK2. More »

It was glorious. It followed most of the clichés that the earlier series followed, some kid gets caught up in the middle of an attack and jumps into a gundam. But what I like about this one is that it follows the mood of the original gundam and zeta gundam more closely. More »

Yotsuba&! is a pretty cute series done by Kiyohiko Azuma, the guy who also did the Azumanga Daioh manga. It’s about a little girl named Yotsuba and her life after moving to a new house. I can’t believe I enjoyed this, and it’s almost embarassing, but I loved reading it. This should crack open even the most stone hearted devil witch emo. More »

So apparently, shit hits the fan in episode 7. Instead of cute girls doing cute stuff, you have explosions and tanks and stuff blowing up everywhere. I need to catch up now. I stopped watching around episode 3 because I lost interest. More »

It took a while to muster the motivation to watch Katanagatari’s second episode. I’m not sure if it was worth it. The problems from the first episode are still existing in the second one, mostly the dialogue. It was too dragged out and mostly meaningless. It felt like they struggled to extend the episode to 1 hour when it could easily fit a 30 minute episode. More »

This is a pretty solemn week for anyone who read the latest chapters of Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. Possible heavy spoiler ahead. Although I dislike Bleach and Naruto so I found those chapters pretty funny. I love One Piece though and damn, this chapter made me shed a tear. The events in these chapters have been predicted, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying to read. More »

This is a decent Touhou song but the main attraction is the video. Everything just flows very smoothly and it’s addicting to watch. I can keep this looping all day and not get bored. I was recently introduced to this video through some McDonald’s spin-off and I just stumbled across the original. There’s a lot of information available on how the video began and it’s pretty funny. They’re available on the uploader’s comment. The video even showed up on CNN where they obviously had no idea what they were commenting about but it made me laugh either way. More »

I never knew Persona 3 Audio Dramas existed until recently. They are supposed to be a lot of them but the only one I’ve watched/listened to was “A Certain Day of Summer.” Although audio dramas are supposed to be audio only, these are animated for some reason, I’m assuming it’s a fan who did it. This one was pretty funny and got me interested in more, but not interested enough to search for them. Maybe if I ever stumble across a bundle of them all translated I’ll watch it. Wikipedia says that there’s another audio drama coming out February 25th. Maybe by then I’ll be motivated to look for more. If I knew about this while I was playing through P3 I’d be all over it. I’ll definitely be playing P3 portable though. More »

The Highschool of the Dead manga has been on hiatus for over a year and it’s been announced that it will be returning along with an anime being developed. The artist for the manga has done a lot of hentai stuff and it shows in the manga with tons of blatant fan service. And there’s a lot of it. Almost every single drawing of a female character is an erotic one. I think this will do pretty well as an anime, but I’d definitely avoid watching it if there is anyone around. More »
