It’s nice to see Sunrise working on turning a Gundam novel into anime. Their more recent series (Gundam 00, Seed, Destiny) just didn’t feel right to me. Hopefully this encourages more Universal Century stuff (the original gundam timeline) to get animated. It feels bad missing out on a huge chunk of the story just because I can’t read the novels/manga like Crossbone Gundam and Hathaway’s Flash. More »

I was able to watch an episode of the Halo animation. I don’t have an Xbox but someone on Youtube uploaded the episode “The Babysitter” done by Studio 4C. More »

A manga titled, “The World Only God Knows” is about a high school student who is known as a god on the internet for being able to capture the hearts of any 2-D girl. Later on he meets a demon who is on a mission to capture evil spirits. These evil spirits reside in other people and so he learns to apply his dating sim skills to unlock their hearts and release the spirits.

This is a pretty funny manga with a unique main character and one I can really relate to. I spend all my time playing video games too. Too bad I can’t get good grades like him. OH WELL. The main character’s personality really reminds me of Lelouch from Code Geass + Light from Death Note. Its worth reading just to see him in action, doing what he does best. Seducing girls.

Tsunderes are a character archetype that you can’t resist loving. A relatively recent well known example for a tsundere would be Suzumiya Haruhi. J.C Staff is also obviously addicted with tsunderes, Shakugan no Shana, Zero no Tsukaima, To Aru Majutsu no Index all contain tsunderes. Rie Kugumiya is also well known as a voice actor for tsunderes. More »

Darker Than Black DVDs will include a special side story for every second DVD release. This is good news because it’ll explain the gap between the first and second season. There’s a short PV shown at their main site. It’s pretty cool and the second season is one of the good animes airing this season. Always nice to see the Darker Than Black world being expanded on. If you haven’t watched it before, it can be compared to X-men in a way. More »

This is one of the greatest manga ever. If you are thinking of the Pokemon anime, they’re not even worth comparing. The manga has no princess named Ash, instead you get Red who doesn’t do weak stuff like releasing his Butterfrees. And you get Professor Oak who loves to traumatize little girls. There’s also no jackass Team Rocket trio showing up every week ruining the episode and Pikachu getting kidnapped every other second. This is what the Pokemon anime should’ve been. More »

Visual novels are video games except there’s no real gameplay in them. They’re more like a picture book with music since most of the game is in the text. There’s also multiple endings, think of those “Give Yourself Goosebumps” books where your choices affect the ending. They’ve been getting alot of attention and many even have anime adaptions. Although they’re not nearly as big in the US as they are in Japan, there are fan translations available for many of the more popular galges. More »

The series will be coming back on January 4th after about a year since the last chapter. It’s one of my favorite series but it’s gone on a hiatus so many times. Each time it stops, there’s a huge cliffhanger. It’s bad enough they’re stuck in the cell saga(from DBZ). Who knows how long it’ll last until it goes back on hiatus. More »

There’s not alot of good vampire anime although I’m probably just biased against shoujo stuff. Here’s a list of five of the better vampire anime. More »

Nyan Koi is a romantic comedy anime about a high school student allergic to cats. He gets cursed and can understand what cats are saying but he has to help 100 cats with their requests or turn into a cat and die from allergies. More »

This is a male. His name is Jun. If you thought it was a cute girl, you fell for the trap. They’re unfair because people just draw a girl and call it a guy. No matter how you look at it, it’s a girl right? Still, for some reason a lot of people ( including me) love traps. It’s like seeing a bar of gold on top of a pitfall– I just want to walk into it. Bakuman, is a manga about two kids who want to write/draw manga. It seems like a boring idea and when I first started reading it, I wasn’t expecting much out of it. The first chapter I read didn’t really leave a good impression on me. It felt a bit awkward and the love story was too far-fetched. It’s the kind of story that gets better as you read it though. After following the series for a few weeks, its become something to look forward to every week. More »

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki lives up to its name. I can’t describe it as anything but bizarre. The author himself is already strange as he hasn’t aged a bit and at 50 years old, he looks like he’s 20. It’s separated into 6 parts, each one a new story but borrowing concepts from the previous one. It follows the bloodline of the Joestar family and each story follows another member down the family tree. More »

Biribiri is the nickname of Mikoto Misaka, a great character stuck in a terrible show, To Aru Majutsu no Index. She’s so awesome that she gets her own series , To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. She’s also the heroine in Index but only for part of the anime. Nobody cares about the other heroine. More »
