You will be surprised to know he played the younger version of his boss’s character in the movie, Ninja Assasin. Well, if you are a current subscriber to Ningin, you should know that Rain is the main character of the new ninja moves-filled action movie, Ninja Assasin. The movie has scenes where they show the training from a boy to a man, and between those scenes, one of the boys from MBLAQ, who Rain is currently training and producing, played that role. More »

On all sides of the Staples Center there were kids in large clusters in a ratio of 8 to 2 - girls to boys. In season one of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the roles were pretty much defined when it came to good and evil: all elements that weren’t fire and the Fire Nation, respectively. Despite Zuko being exiled from the Fire Nation, he was pretty much running amok all over the globe, obsessively chasing the Aang Gang in order to redeem himself. However, knowing that there were two solid seasons to follow, I had suspicions that Zuko was much more than he seemed—perhaps a Byronic hero of sorts—and season two teased this out well. More than that, it confirms that Aang and Zuko are much more alike than traditional storytelling would have us think: they’re two heads of a coin spinning along parallel roads to the same destination. During Avatar: The Last Airbender’s original syndication from 2005-2008, I was pretty much in the dark about the Nickelodeon cartoon. For one, I pretty much didn’t watch t.v. during college—save for the internet feed and the shows I was a die hard fan of—and when I finally did hear about Avatar, I immediately brushed it off as a lame attempt at trying to adopt an anime flavor. Most importantly, knowing that it was an American production about an Asian-centric fantasy world, I wasn’t exactly feaning’ to know more about it; the alarm that went off in my head was similar to, “Well, there goes Disney effing up another culture, yet again…” Fail. Having finally seen the show, however, I can safely say it’s totally shut my trap: the cartoon is good—scratch that, it’s amazing—and I only wish it was around when I was growing up. More »
