Say for some twisted reason, you were stranded on an island. Only, you’re not by yourself. You’re with a group of people. Think of ABC’s Lost, only somehow you don’t end up with a random mix of people. You’re stranded with one other boy group. My question for you is: What boy group would you want to be stranded with? It’s been confirmed that the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Oasis are going to provide the theme songs for the live action film of Beck! How awesome is that? Sort of reminds me when the Red Hot Chili Peppers were on the soundtrack of the Death Note movies. More »

Arashi, who had the biggest year in 2009, has carried the momentum into 2010! Their newest single, “Troublemaker,” which is the single for member Sho Sakurai’s drama, has sold over 500,000 in the first week alone! Last year, their “Ashita no Kioku / Crazy Moon” also sold over this much in its first week. I don’t know about all of you, but I think this is pretty bomb. As an active Arashi fangirl, I can say proudly that they rule. :D Here’s their music video for the successful “Troublemaker”! More »

Once again, Arashi wins almost all of the awards. At the Japan Gold Disc Awards, Arashi won 10 awards. No other artist has ever done this. Along with their pwnage of the Oricon charts, claiming four of the top five spots of sales for singles. More »

Now by that title one would assume that I could possibly be killed by rabid fangirls, but I won’t be because they all agree that it is hilarious. Of course, Yaya Arashi isn’t better, but they are still hilarious. More »

Kazuya Kamenashi, part of the Japanese boyband KAT-TUN, has a become a sportscaster for “GOing!! Sports & News,” which is going to replace NTV’s current sports show, “SUPER Urugusu.” The new show will be hosted by Comedian Shinya Ueda of Cream Stew and baseball commentator Suguru Egawa. More »

Arashi’s Homework mostly known as Arashi no Shukudai-kun is ending March 22, and I am crying myself to sleep tonight. They have run since 2006 when G no Arashi ended, and they have maintained high ratings for the show despite being shown late at night. This show brought us Aiba Engrish and Ailand, where Aiba had some crazy stuff to do and Aiba Sugoroku took place. This show brought us the term Sho!fail as Sakurai Sho failed at pretty much everything he does. More »

KAT-TUN, one of Johnny’s groups, is back after the successful single, “RESCUE,” which was my favorite song of theirs. Now it is D-Motion. I have heard this song twice and already I am singing it. I really pleased with the music video and song because for once everyone is singing! Although the auto tune is a little much, this song is so addictive. I don’t think they will have any problems selling a bunch except for the fact that super group Arashi’s new single came out too, so Jin doesn’t have to worry about his STD scandal affecting sales. Have you ever played “What’s in the box?” where you touch something and try to figure out what it is? Well, as an Arashi girl, I see it quite often. Normally, it’s something like a wig or something living like an octopus or squid. In this Himitsu no Arashi-chan (HnA, p.s. I think it means Arashi’s secrets although I might be wrong.), Aibu Saki (Zettai Kareshi, Absolute Boyfriend) wants to play it. It’s all fun and games until Mastumoto Jun gets a REAL surprise. I really hope you all watch it to the end becuase I really fell off my chair laughing and got an ab workout as well. Ch-ch-check it out! More »

Yes. You read that right! Ellen DeGeneres wants YOUR suggestions for international music. From what I heard, TVXQ is leading by a large number. Cassies are sure fighting hard! The have beaten out 2PM’s Hottests and SS501 fans. More »

So the new year comes and the Japanese know how to throw a party. It was time to go out HUGE, because it marks not only the 60th Kouhaku Uta Gassen, but it ends the decade! More »

From Rekuru:
It will sometimes happen that I post about bands I don’t listen to myself, but there are so big I figure people should know about them. A drunken middle-aged man in a bar once told me that I would never understand Japan until I could list all the members of SMAP, and perhaps he was right (though I still can’t). One such group is the boy-band Arashi. More »

So we’re going to be dipping into our stash of albums and do something no website has done before. Starting July 1st and for all 31 days of July, we’ll be giving out a free album to a random registered user. More details after the jump. More »

Hey everyone! We have an older FAM video here for your enjoyment. I lost the flash drive with some of the video on it and just recently finished editing it up for you guys. This time our video is about Johnny’s Entertainment, a J-pop company that produces boy bands and the FAM doesn’t like how Mr. Johnny Kitagawa keeps his boys to himself. This rant took place around the time Yatterman was released so hope you guys enjoy! More »

As you know, Ningin was at the NYCC’09 to get the scoop on all things Yatterman. From the Yatterman press conference to the world premiere, we trekked to gather all the information that Arashi and Miike Takashi fans want to know. Sho Sakurai humbly sat next to his cool director during the press conference, and they talked about their movie making experience right away. Both Miike-san and Sho-kun addressed the audience with very sincere greetings. Miike-san went first by welcoming attendees: he seemed to have an aura of ultra coolness and told everyone to not catch a cold in this winter weather. Then Sho took the mic and impressed everyone with an English greeting. More »

Countless fandoms of fun collided at the NYCC this past February weekend. This convention was our trip to Mecca—a heaven of pop culture tranquility. Brotherhood surrounds all who attend: jedi knights, ninjas, goths, vampires, anime and video game characters walk the aisles in peace and harmony. More »

YATTERMAN hit the big screen tonight in New York City, and hundreds of fans waited hours in below freezing weather for a world premiere seat. Ningin ningens Hoc Poeng, Mia Lerda, Jessica Dawson, Lara Visconti, Eddie Lebron, Samuel Javier, Amy Chang and myself braved the cold to see director Takashi Miike (三池 崇史) and actor-singer Sakurai Sho (櫻井 翔) live and in person - certainly a rare event! (Wow, we had a full Ningin team there!) But the coolest part of the night was the chance to meet our YATTERMAN contest winners in person! More »
