Well these 1-day matches are quite intense aren’t they? Not much time to…take your time. But they’re easy ways to get EXP. We’ll look to do a lot more of these in the future. I might even up the EXP you get for winning games. Anyway, I really didn’t expect the Ningin Team to win considering we were outnumbered about 10 to 1. But after leading 4-1 with 10 hours to go, I started to believe! Sadly for us, but good for Ningin Users, JesterNick was able to pass Kizuninha in the final 45 mins or so of the match. The final score is 3-2 in favor of Ningin Users. However this match was not without a little controversy. More »

There’s about 10 hours left in this intense one-day match. So far it looks like Ningin Team is leading 4-1 =) More »

It’s been awhile since we did a non-Decathlon gaming event on Ningin so this is a welcome breath of fresh air. Tomorrow’s 1-day match pits Ningin Users vs the Team of Ningin Bloggers, Admins, and Mods. This is somewhat lopsided as there are way more users than Ningin team members, so to make things a bit fair, there’s only 5 games and I’m picking games that Ningin team members are good at. Let’s get to the details: More »

For most MLG matches, we pit Ninginers against Ninginers. But what about the Ningin Team of bloggers and moderators? Ever wonder how the Ningin Team would fair in an actual MLG match? Sure bloggers blog and forum moderators moderate, but how good are we at flash games? With the upcoming Ningin Team vs. Ningin Users MLG match, you will wonder no more. More »

If we were to call the Internet the newest New Frontier apart from outer space, I’d say the Mixr network is rapidly expanding into it. Our recent claims include:

-beauty site, FlauntMe.com -Japanese entertainment site, Rekuru.com -gaming site, Wirebot.com -gadget site, Ziggytek.com -girly and cute site, GirlyBubble.com

Expansion is a trend we are all about maintaining! On that note, we’re looking to increase our editorial staff by offering paid and volunteer writing gigs for all of the above.

What we’re looking for: - Good writers with interesting writing styles and personalities. - People with deep understanding, knowledge and passion for the respective sites. - Consistency and enthusiasm.

Just head over to our blogger signup page if interested and we’ll contact you if everything looks good.

As I mentioned before, Ningin’s parent company is in a big expansion phase. We’re looking to launch another 2-3 websites in the month of October. Wirebot, our gaming site is definitely one of them. Another is a site for NBA news and coverage. And don’t forget the recently re-opened Girlybubble which Jinra also manages! So we have tons of opening for paid and volunteer writing gigs for gaming, NBA, and cute stuff. If interested, then read on for more info! More »

Even though the economy has been pretty bad, things are pretty good here for Ningin and our parent company. So we’re looking to do some expansion. One immediate expansion that we have in mind is a new gaming site which we hope to launch in the next couple of weeks. We’re going to have both paid blogger positions and a couple of internships which won’t be paid. More info after the jump. More »

I’ve always had fun drawing my own anime characters - problem is, I suck at drawing and as I’ve mentioned in previous Anime Moe Modes posts, there’s so much detail that goes into these characters that one misplaced line can throw off the whole image. Looks like the otaku gods have heard my plea - the “Anime Girls Generator” program isn’t the first of its kind, but it’s definitely the easiest to use and has a wide enough variety of eyes, faces, hair, clothes, and accessories to really make some unique characters. Hey, little boys are told not to play with Barbie dolls, so I’ll play dress-up my own special way. More »

Most likely you need to refresh your browser cache by pressing F5 or use a forceful refresh by pressing CTRL+F5.

It’s been almost three months since my last upgrade post. Yea…things keep coming up. The Megaman Movie Trailer, the BoA interview, the End of the Year Special, America’s Best Dance Crew, drunken holiday parties + hangover recovery time, launching ZiggyTek — our gadget site, I was sick (no really I was), etc. In a way, it was kinda a perfect storm of events for Ningin as our growth has been skyrocketing from all those different things combined. Well, not the being sick and drunk part. More »

This past Saturday, the Mixr Media family celebrated the holidays at the first Ningin-GirlyBubble Holiday Mixr in New York City!

Our bloggers often work on their own time and far apart, so the Holiday Mixr was a great opportunity for everyone to get together offline. Some of us even met for the first time in person! We shared drinks and karaoke over a yummy Korean dinner of Squid Bokum (spicy!), Budae Jigae and grilled Kalbi. Some of us showed off dance moves straight from the Wonder Girls and BoA. This resulted in some of us getting free dance lessons. More »

We plan to have our full team of bloggers, photographers, and volunteers at this event. It’s going to be a crazy three days for us. Remember, we’ll be uploading photos in (near) real-time of all the cosplayers that we see!

Here’s one final note from our friend Lance Fensterman of New York Anime Festival: More »

I’ve always emphasized that Ningin is a community for anyone interested in Asian Media. Last week, we greatly expanded that community adding seven new voices in seven new blogs (9 new bloggers). It’s been a fun seven days for us to say the least. All of them have added something different to Ningin with their diverse perspectives on the world of Asian media.

For those of you that have followed us since we added blogs around April, you can clearly see how much we’ve grown. That pace is only going to get faster with the additions we have planned. Lots more bloggers are in queue to be added. Lots more features and functionality. Lots more similar communities like Ningin to join. With all that said, we’re always going to be interested in ideas and partnerships from enthusiastic people. Just drop me a note either here or here. More »

As we gear up for our launch party during Fashion Week we’d like to share with you some juicy details about what we have planned for the night.

We will be featuring a stage area for models (male AND female!) to strut their stuff for the chance to win some fabulous prizes! Photographers will be able to shoot front and center within the VIP section, giving them the opportunity to expand their portfolios and showcase their skills as well (with the best being featured on GirlyBubble afterwards).

The goal is to bring together all kinds of stylish, fun, fashion-loving people together for a night of mingling and partying, but with the added twist of a Model Showdown, so everyone should be looking extra fly that night! We have lots of great gifts in the works from sponsors such as the Bacardi, Rubin Museum of Art, Lee’s Rehab, Viva Salsa Dance Studio, and more… I’m already trying to think of ways to sabotage my own party so I can think of ways to win these goodies for myself heh ;) More »

Greetings! This is Lara and Jessica and together we’re the F.A.M. duo! In this blog, we will share our fangirling experiences from a westerners perspective on the East! Although we’re not pure Asian (together, we actually make 1/4) we still like to listen and watch media from the East. Even though we don’t know the various languages that those cute Asian celebrities sing and act in, we still squeak and squeal because that’s just what fangirls do. Cute guys aside, we also go to anime conventions and are active cosplayers. Our con adventures take us from places such as Boston, Maryland, and more (on the east of the West, of course). Spinach. We just wanted to say that. Now, onto the fun stuff we do. we critique, review, and just flat out comment on topics from games that involve cute legal cock fighting (COUGHPOKEMONCOUGH) to JYP’s fashion sense (darn those plastic pants…). Now, we will introduce ourselves individually! More »

You guys ask for more interviews, more features, more photos, more stories and we’ve listen. From September 2nd until September 8th - 7 straight days - Ningin will add one new blogger to our roster. Each day, one new blogger will make a personal introduction so you can get to know him or her better.

Soon, Ningin will also have podcasts, video blogging, and many other new features and applications. And we’re always looking for more bloggers. If you want to be a Ningin blogger, head over to this page.

Thanks for helping us grow and please welcome the new bloggers to the Ningin community!

As you know Ningin is always expanding its horizons and this past weekend one of our new, upcoming bloggers was at the Cosplay Day event along side with yours truly.

I wasn’t able make it to the event on time but luckily we had someone else to take more photos for us, Jason Linetsky aka Taraka. He was there way before I got there and was also in the front during the Team US cosplayers interview. He took a lot of great photos of the cosplayers some of which I didn’t as well as Team USA. They’re part of the same album with credit to him of course. Be sure to take a look, they’re awesome!

Him and I will also be at New York Anime Festival in September so be on the look out for us. We’ll possibly be cosplaying. /gasp!
