I wasn’t sure how big a fanbase of Final Fantasy people we have on Ningin when I decided to give out these posters. Turns out, a pretty big one based on the amount of points collected this past week, 15206 in total, the most points for one week since we started this promo. Maybe we should start a Final Fantasy community? More »

BoA’s new Twitter habit has really kept us up to date. Right now she is in New York, where she was seen by 729 Seventh Avenue, sporting her new edgy hair style. And just as edgy, is her fuel of choice, McDonalds hazelnut coffee. Maybe she’ll get an ad with McDonalds too? BoA, If you’re in the OC area, you gotta check out the Vietnamese hazelnut iced coffee, its great. More »

The hardest working girl in APOP, BoA, will be headlining with TVXQ in the A-Nation concert. A-Nation is the annual concert for top artists on the AVEX Japanese label. This should be interesting since AVEX has a LOT of good artists on their label.

BoA, the queen of fashion, who has been missing from Korean photo shoots, has come back to remind us why we should keep all eyes on her. She looks great! You’ll get not just one issue, but a series of 3 issues of her stunning styles in 3 consecutive Nylon Magazines. More »

Next week’s prize is a one week special – Final Fantasy Advent Children posters. So the top three finishers for this coming week will have the option of choosing those posters or a BoA poster. We’re also starting to stockpile more posters of different artists and movies. So future weekly prizes will give the winner options as opposed to just BoA posters. More »

If you were paying any attention to BoA’s Nylon TV interview this year, you’ll know that Alexander Wang is her favorite designer. (Mine too.) If you’re a fashionista, you’ll know that Alexander Wang pieces aren’t for the weak of wallet — despite collections boasting the cheapest of the high-end price tags. Luckily, Gap has answered prayers with an upcoming Alexander Wang for Gap khaki collection. Here’s just a teaser of what’s to come on June 16: More »

Between filming her newest music video “ENERGETIC” which is hot off her U.S. debut album, BoA made a new twitter account. (Psst..most likely so she can stalk Justin Timberlake). FYI, the choreographer for Energetic who goes by Tucker Barkley also did Ava’s Crazy as well as Britney Spears Circus. What a resume! More »

I’ve been noticing that the weekly competitions have been more intense since we first started with more people trying hard to win the top 3 spots. This makes me happy to see. Since the competition is going up a bit, we’re going to try and increase the prizes a bit too. We’ll be offering more variety for both the weekly and monthly prizes. Instead of just music cds, you can now also select from a list of movies and anime DVDs and other types of merchandise. I’ll go into more detail about that in a later post. More »

Finally BoA will be a feature on national TV! Catch her June 6 on NBC, which is ch.4 Los Angeles. Yes that is this Saturday or tomorrow from the time I’m writing this. We’ve been waiting for some REAL promotion in the USA, which has been sparse. We’d like to see this along with continual radio play. I look forward to this! More »

Today is the last day of May. It’s also the last day to score points for our May EXP contest, which I see that some of you are frantically doing. For the month, first and second are pretty much locked up. 3rd place, not so much. It’ll be interesting to see who’ll eventually finish in that spot with half a day to go. More »

I hope everyone is having a nice Memorial Day weekend. Well those that live in America anyway. We have a new winner for the first time since starting this competition! Misters0freshh beats out cheekybodacious for the #1 spot with a strong push on Saturday! ryu00 again finishes 3rd, this time with a much wider margin. More »

For you people who requested BoA in the North Cali area, you’re in luck! BoA is coming to San Francisco, June 28, 2009.The SF Pride festival is quite a huge event, as many people would come to see their favorite artists whether gay or straight. This is a great place to be, since other large pop stars such as Lady Gaga are typically scheduled to perform there. More »

Ningin Blogger DavidHou wrote earlier today about NY1 not including BoA in their snap poll of which Asian artists will be the first Asian pop star. Offhand, I can see why this would be a slight against BoA. However, in speaking with a senior SM official today, the truth is that SM asked that BoA not be included. So it’s nothing malicious or intentional on NY1’s part. (Danny, you don’t have to block them anymore!) More »

Local New York City cable news channel asks YOU to vote for “Who Will Be America’s First Asian Pop Star?” You’ve got Wonder Girls, Se7en and Utada on the voting ballot.

Ummm… Where’s BoA? Yeah. Nice diss, NY1. More »

The House of Blues was a sold out event. A sea of Asians lined up outside the venue for what was expected to be one rocking good time on Saturday night. And surely it was. It was my first time doing the whole press access sha-bang, so I didn’t know what to expect, what I’ll do is I’ll give you a concert experience from a fresh, new, perspective. On the get go, I didn’t have to wait in any lines and I was free to roam around anywhere before the show started. Checking in with my ID was really the only gripe , and required further authentication from the Admin here, but I suppose due to the name of the venue its fair. More »

Twice now I’ve seen a last minute Saturday night push by someone to make it into the top 3. This time it’s ryu00 that knocked out Choochi. (The first was on 5/3.) Perhaps Choochi was being nice and let ryu00 win since she already won last week? The margin between 3rd and 4th is less than 10 points, so all Choochi had to do was comment a few times on Saturday… More »

Cheekybodacious is now 3 for 3 since we started doing this promotion. Can anyone challenge him? Misters0freshh, you were a close second, perhaps next week. Choochi rounds out the top 3, though Siralop7 made a strong push on Saturday to jump from 8th to 3rd. More »

BoA’s oldest brother Kwon Soon Hwon (권순훤) got married on Saturday May 9, in Korea. Lately, due to BoA’s impossibly strenuous schedule, she has not been able to visit her homeland very often. Wango Tango, and Hollywood Bowl both take place today but are not more important than supporting her brother and spending some rare time with her family. More »

BoA has signed with Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to give her U.S. career a much needed push. CAA also represents other Ningin favorites like dance crew Jabbawockeez (ABDC, Ningin’s REBUILDING THE BRIDGE fundraiser event) and director Michael Kang (THE MOTEL, W32nd). CAA will be taking over all aspects of BoA’s American presence including music, film and merchandising. CAA said they’re also thinking about a BoA U.S. tour in late 2009. More »

On Cyworld; which is basically the equivalent to the US Myspace or Facebook, newcomers After School locked in the Rookie of the Month title. After School, if you are unfamiliar with them, are a pop dance group produced by Pledis Entertainment, best known for Son Dam Bi. They’re led by one of BoA’s sr. dancers named Park Ji Young (Stagename: Park Kahi). The rest of the lineup includes 5 other girls, Kim Jung Ha, Beka, Lee Joo Yeon, Yoo So Yeong, and Uee. They debuted on 12.29.2008 at SBS InkiGayo. More »
