MBC’s “We Got Married” is the result of putting a couple celebrities together to play pretend marriage. So far the show has been really successful and quite funny. Note that they are changing the name to “Sunday Marriage Show”.

In the most recent episode, they introduced some new couples Hwanhee/Hwa Yo Bi and Marco/Son Dam Bi. Instead of just hanging out with each other, they go on an “Ant Tour” trip led by Crown J with his mate Seo In Young and SolBi/Andy. They stop by the beach and hang out with each other at the sauna/hotel, all of which is really cute. There’s some dancing and random spanking but you have to watch to understand.

Well while they do that, the Alshin couple (Alex/Shinae) play parents with 4 babies! Ah! As soon as the original parents leave, two of the babies start crying and Alshin look miserable already. However they manage to get all the babies to fall asleep. Good parents right?

You can watch the entire episode on Youtube, unfortunately without subtitles, by CJWTown.

So they finally announced the official cast which I’m hoping is a really bad joke. Honestly I knew all the supposed cast members before were just rumors but it gave me a little hope.

The cast for the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) are:
Actor Lee Min Ho as Goo Joon Pyo (Domyouji Tsukasa)
SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong as Yoon Ji Hoon (Hanazawa Rui)
Actor Kim Bum as So Lee Jung (Nishikado Sojiroh)
T-Max’s Kim Joon as Song Yu Bin (Mimasaka Akira)

Urgh it breaks my heart but I guess Kim Hyun Joong isn’t a complete loss. He’s probably the biggest and the cutest star out of the 4 but I rather have Jae Joong~! There is no mention of who will play the lead female, Makino Tsukushi (go figure). I’m still hoping they’ll cast Lee Junki or Jae Joong so we can get some yaoi action, of course that’s just me being hopeful.

The 24 episode TV series will air on Mon – Tues after the drama “The World That They Live In” during the end of December.

Shi qi sui de tian kong is the original title for this 2004 Taiwanese film. All I can say is that I think I prefer the English title because it’s much easier to remember. However, I think the title should be called Taming of the Playboy instead. Now I am wondering, though, which is easier to tame: a playboy or a shrew? However, that rhetorical question needs to be put on hold while I review this film. And by the way, it’s a gay film, so if it’s not your cup of tea, don’t click to read more.

As a newcomer to anime, it was suggested that I watch a couple of different styles as well as formats. There’s so much to choose from, but here’s where I began…

Ghost In A Shell: So, I’m gonna start off by simply saying: “Wow.” I know this an oldie but goodie, but I think that seeing this movie first really set the bar high. I was consistently impressed by not only the animation, but maybe even more so by the storyline. While following the covert ops team in a techno-crime thriller sounds like it could be complex enough, I was often caught off guard by all of the existential subtext. Motoko Kusanagi’s “construction” lends itself to major philosophical issues; by having a human brain and spinal cord while the rest of her body is mechanized she is constantly reminded of her duality. To me, this added another level of depth to “The Major” as she forged ahead in her fight against the Puppet Master.

This is an archived blog post. Jason Linetsky is no longer a Ningin blogger.

Leah Eva has hop scotched the world from the Philippines to San Francisco and has recently settled down in Chicago where she has claimed the title of only successful Asian comic in Chi Town. I had the pleasure to interview her before her performance in the Shine For Our People event, which raised money for Typhoon Frank victims.

I have seen this movie about half a dozen times by now, and it is HILARIOUS and infinitely better than the garbage ping-pong movie ‘Balls of Fury’ that came out not too long ago.    The film is about Chris ‘C-Dub’ Wang, who is the black sheep of his family, a wannabe b-baller and militant Asian American, who inadvertently finds himself representing his family’s ping-pong business in an annual neighborhood ping-pong tournament.  Along the way he does some hustling, battles some arrogant Brits, and also has his eyes on a beautiful Asian American Studies graduate student.  It is one of the funniest and most enjoyable movies I’ve seen in a long time.

Everyday we are sure to hear terms like Viral Videos, Web Episodes, and Cyber Blogging. These are all common day words used by the most ordinary people. The Internet revolution has changed the way people seek entertainment in today’s world.

Enter the stylish, Shyaporn Theerakulstit (Tearahgunsehtaet) a YouTube comedian that is anything but a fly by night talent.

Ever the modest gentleman, he lives up to his nickname “Shy” and admits his videos are no Film Phenomenon. This charming actor proves he is not just another pretty face, as his videos are more than the commonplace, resentful drama web-cam video blog dairies, (called vlogs), but humorous sketches, that sometimes have an ethnic twist. He is best known for his “500 impressions in 2 minutes” video, he then taught us that kittens can fly, documented the daily grind of an unemployed hitman and wrote a zombie musical. He even has represented the only Asian super-friend and put him at the forefront of one of his videos. Never one to loose a clever sketch idea he keeps them on a mirror using dry erase marker. Be assured that each upcoming Holiday there will be another one of his immensely enjoyable videos premiering on YouTube. With such a diverse profile like this, you can easily see Shyaporn is a brilliant artist that is as sophisticated as he is creative.
