From Girlybubble: With her round eyes and largely disproportionate head, Blythe dolls look oddly similar to anime characters. It is no wonder why they are so big in a lot of Asian countries, especially Japan and Thailand. Also, it is not a surprise that Blythe was turned into a manga character by the name of Marabelle Melody. More »

From Girlybubble: What was supposed to be an Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday as Princess Ann appreciation post has now turned into me coming across Korea’s version of the Blythe Doll, the Pullip doll. So far to my knowledge, there exists three Audrey Hepburn Pullip dolls, a Breakfast at Tiffany’s Holly Golightly doll, a Sabrina doll and a Roman Holiday Princess Ann doll. More »

From Girlybubble: Some girls want plush toy dolls for Christmas. Some, don’t. Me? I’ll take a life-sized Rirakkuma bear, thanks. (Remember, bigger = better.) What’s pictured is most likely a lowly Japanese teenager slaving away to make ends meet and not an actual life-sized plush doll. However, I think it gives us all a good idea of how huge this life-sized Rirakkuma bear should be. For me, at least. More »

When I first saw this pix, I was like what is a bunch of girls doing in a orange cream striped outfits. Turns out, it’s SNSD doing a CF. Makes sense. So this is pretty cool, since it’s shot in the Seoul airport and they invited their fans to join! More artists should do stuff like that.

I don’t regret the depressing bliss this series caused me. But I thought it was over; a sinful past that I put behind me. Yet I can’t escape it, Winter Sonata is Japan’s favorite tv show. The reminders of that series are everywhere…

Happy Mother’s Day mommie! Not that you’ll ever read Ningin or anything. Just throwing the sentiment out there. Ok back on topic. I think it’s always cool to see celebs without makeup. Here’s Sun Mi from the Wondergirls. Makes you feel that anyone can be a celeb with the right stylist!

Really big photo day today. At the time of this writing, over 300 which is twice the norm. Quickly scanning through everything there were a few that immediate jumped out at me. Take this one for example; I had to stare for a few seconds to figure out what it was. I have a better idea now but still can’t figure out where he ends and she begins. Bonus: it’s another celeb controversy. Click through to find out what the scandal is about.

Like Marty McFly in Back to the Future, I jumped back into what seemed like 1955 the second I moved to the back of a little well known tikki bar in downtown NYC called Otto’s Shrunken Head. Located on 14th St and in Alphabet City between Aves A & B, Otto’s Shruken Head is one of the few Tiki bars in the city and serves not only exotic drinks but even exotic acts, and how more exotic can you get than with some time travel.
