2NE1 just recently released their new digital single entitled “Try To Copy Me.” The song is loosely based on a Korean children’s rhyme, with a lot of hip hop and pop infusion. Rumors are flying that this song will indeed be their comeback song. More »

From Girlybubble: The San Diego Comic Con has been pretty much everywhere in the news this past week with so many big entertainment companies looking to promote their shows, games, what have you. But not enough attention was paid to the cute people and costumes there! In an effort to change that, I sifted through almost tons of photos and found 15 that pass my cuteness threshold. So enjoy!~ More »

The last time I made snapshots of the After School album I got some people to actually buy the album. A few members on Soompi and Ningin both sent messages and asked me how they could buy the After School album, so this time I’ll simply repeat the process. More »

You have to wonder what the producers of Suicide Pact, a new Korean horror movie, was thinking. The issue of suicide comes up several times a month on Ningin which is way too often for my liking. So why romanticize it by making a movie about it? It’s hard to judge the movie without first seeing it first but remember how a bunch of terrorist movies got pushed back after 9/11? You would think people should be sensitive here considering a former president committed suicide in this country.

After three days of not blogging, the news really piled up! The first thing that jumped out at me was this picture. It’s actually an artistic picture, not just some shot of a random hot Asian girl. Whoever the photographer is, please give us more.

I guess you can see I’m hyped up on promoting AfterSchool :P

Can you guess which one I think is cutest/like most? More »

The Japan Society really has outdone themselves with their latest exhibit “KRAZY!”. At first I was sure this was just going to be a one room gallery of animation cells, but “KRAZY!” is so much more.

They have several rooms dedicated to different facets of exported Japanese media such as manga, anime, and video games. One cool aspect of the exhibit is that it’s interactive and rooms are set up to influence the senses. More »

Thank you to those that entered the Ningin-NY Anime Festival Cosplay Photo Contest. We were amazed by your costumes and enthusiasm. Galleries from all three days of New York Anime Festival are online now. We divided the galleries by Day 1 (Friday), Day 2, and Day 3 to make it a bit easier for you to find yourself. Don’t forget to check out other photos from the event.

We’ve gone through over 500 contest entries and chosen 50 finalists. It was quite a debate about who should make the top 50. We gave preference to those that made their own outfits and those that posed well. Well that’s done and now it’s time for you to vote for the winners! Voting will be open until 12pm (EST), Sunday, October 5, 2008 for all registered Ningin users. Each Ningin user can vote for one favorite costume so make sure you check them all out before voting! The winners will be announced 12pm (EST), Monday, October 6, 2008.

The top three cosplayers will be profiled and interviewed by our Ningin bloggers. The overall best cosplayer will also receive two super exclusive tickets to the private premiere of the Megaman Movie and two tickets to Comic Con next February.

Good luck and thank you for stopping by the Ningin.com booth at the New York Anime Festival! More »

Title is pretty self explanatory. 140+ Photos. Included in this gallery are lots and lots of Wonder Girls, lots of JYP, and a good amount of J-Lim, G-Soul, Min. There’s some added atmosphere shots as well. Enjoy!

Photograph credits: Lan Nguyen, Lara Visconti.

One thing of note is we’re trying out a new gallery system. Let us know what you think. Our interview and videos of the performances are coming soon. It took some time to translate and sub them and there were some issues beyond our control. Still, we got some good videos to post later!

Enjoy this in the meantime: More »
