On May 21st, Youtube, Google and MBC celebrated their agreement with the “YouTube presents MBC K-Pop Concert” with SNSD’s Taeyeon and Tiffany as its MCs, but Super Junior’s Leeteuk has recently been taking some heat from netizens for closing the event. More »

It was previously announced that Google would be holding a Korean Concert, however, everyone had assumed that it would be a private event. Google has just announced however, that not only will this be a public concert, but it’ll be FREE! As always, I was scrolling through Tumblr when I came across quite the interesting post. Every KPOP fan must know SNSD’s hit song, “Gee“, right? I mean, it is the most viewed KPOP music video on Youtube (with 62 million hits!). You’ve heard the original, the Japanese version, the Super Junior version, the INFINITE version, the list goes on forever. But have you heard the Google version? More »

Though it’s not the preferred way of interacting with your friends and whatnot, the Wonder Girls mind not as they have officially unveiled their Google+ page! More »

Looks like the Hallyu Wave is still on it’s journey to conquer the world, and it’s going at full speed. Just recently, Google has put up plans to set up a Youtube account exclusive for KPOP! More »

Today’s photo of the day courtesy of Kizuninha is what you get when you search ‘when did…’ on Google. The results Google thinks you’re searching for are quite interesting! More »

From Htcyou: What happens when a really well made and superior product is released, and no one buys it? Based on the number of unboxing videos for the Nexus One, I assume that every unit sold has had its unboxing recorded and then uploaded to YouTube. From Patrick Boivin comes the most wicked and creative unboxing of any smartphone. My only question is, what took him so long? More »

From Htcyou: HTCYou is a website for you, whether you’re a big HTC fan or you’re just plain curious about the HTC world. We believe that the Google Android operating system will set standards for smartphones and will revolutionize the way that people communicate, play and organize their lives. This belief fuels HTCYou’s existence and is our reason for reaching out to you. Just as you’d use your phone to connect to friends, HTCYou is your means of connecting with people who are just like you. More »

Ever since our newest site HTCYou launched today, I’ve had nothing on the brain but mobile phones and Asian pop songs. One thing that isn’t apparent about HTC despite being Google’s partner-in-crime in developing the Nexus One phone, is the fact that HTC is a company based in Taiwan. This leads me to wonder about HTC and how it’ll market its products stateside. Will it do as the Koreans do by creating entire songs and music videos dedicated to cell phones? If so, the list of Top 5 Asian pop music videos about mobile phones might be useful. More »

Last night’s deemed, “Fight of the Year” between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, certainly lived up to hype. Luckily, unlike the previous fight between Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton, it lasted longer than two rounds. Not only am I happy that Pacquaio won this fight against Cotto, I’m happy that I got my money’s worth as the fight lasted until the 12th and last round. This win for Pacquiao marks a 7th title in SEVEN weight divisions and pretty much the first time in boxing history that anyone’s ever done that. More »

Here I am, going through Google’s Image Search, looking for a nice picture of a Korean taxi for a blog entry. This one thumbnail beckoned me, and I clicked on it because it did not look like any of the Korean taxis I’ve seen in my life. Next thing I know, I’m staring at my screen, minus all the purple stuff and the text.
I know some people think all Asian countries are the same thing . . . but to this extreme? Now, I’ll give the person the benefit of the doubt. Maybe what they meant were that these were Korean taxi drivers in Beijing? If that’s the case, then it would make sense, but I don’t know. “Lots of Korean taxis” is what they typed and no matter how I try to make up excuses, I still think it’s a moment of fail.
Heads up, Google Maps! There’s a “new” kid on the block, and it’s pretty damn impressive! Daum.net has a new map service out, and its quality is over the top, or so says the article. Luckily, though, it’s limited to South Korea, so I guess the folks at Google can relax a bit. Daum’s map also offers two kinds of view: sky and road — which is self-explanatory. More »
