From Girlybubble: Before you read on, there are just a few things you have to do to prepare for yourself. 1) Make sure you’re sitting down. 2) Stop operating any heavy machinery while you’re at it. 3) Give yourself plenty of room to have a few cute-splosions to yourself. There’s a reason why you need to be prepared and it’s because these Hello Kitty Youtube videos are too cute to handle! More »

From Girlybubble: From Hello Kitty burqas to vibrators, this has been by far the hardest (and most fun) top 5 list I’ve ever had to put together. Believe it or not, there is a multitude of random Hello Kitty items. Some official, some unofficial and some just…plain weird. More »

From Girlybubble: The history of Hello Kitty is both boring and fascinating at the same time. To start with, Hello Kitty has no real animated character design history. Unlike Mickey Mouse or Snoopy, she was not born out of a cartoon show or a video game. Put simply, Hello Kitty started out in the ’70s as an image put on stuff. Without any real advertising, the success of Hello Kitty skyrocketed Sanrio into a billion dollar business with half of the revenue from Hello Kitty. Still going strong today, it’s safe to say Hello Kitty’s got more than 9 lives. More »

From Girlybubble: Owning as much Hello Kitty things as possible has always been a childhood dream of mine. Now as an adult, I’m rethinking my dreams and life goals so that they’re geared towards attaining a Hello Kitty apartment, much like the one I visited this past weekend at the Three Apples exhibit. Sure, I’m probably risking a life of spinsterhood, but really. Does it matter when you’re surrounded by the cuteness of Hello Kitty? More »

From Girlybubble: Okay, fine. I lied. I met Lady Gaga’s famed Hello Kitty plush toy dress that she wore with anime eyes for the recent Marcus Klinko and Indrani photoshoot. To me, this is almost just as good as meeting my queen, Lady Gaga in the flesh. Before you get curious, the answer is no. No, I did not raid Lady Gaga’s wardrobe, nor was Lady Gaga harmed in the process of me encountering her Hello Kitty dress in the flesh. It was actually on display at the Three Apples Hello Kitty art exhibit hosted in LA’s Royal/T gallery. More »

From Girlybubble: There really has to be something to be said about irony being one of the core reasons why Japanese kawaii works. Take this week’s Toy Tuesday pick, Gloomy Bear Dunny. On first glance, you think, “OMG SO CUTE IT’S PINK WITH BEADY EYES LIKE HELLO KITTY!!!” and then you realize that it has blood dribbling down its mouth to its stomach. Upon that realization, do you find yourself deterred from its cuteness? No. More »

From Girlybubble: Here’s an event I’d have to be sitting for/not operating heavy machinery during: The Hello Kitty “Three Apples” exhibition opening Oct. 23 at Royal/T in LA. As an exhibition held in honor of of Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary, my inability to effectively handle cute-overload could be problematic. That’s 35 years of Hello Kitty cute-ness! I can barely handle myself being so cute, and I’m only 24. More »

The most famous Asian pussy in the world is turning 35 this year. I know Hello Kitty has been around for a while but never knew she was the same age as me. This makes her a Tiger according to the Chinese zodiac. Those born in the year of a Tiger are supposed to be “difficult to resist, for they are magnetic characters and their natural air of authority confers a certain prestige on them“. Is this why bitch is so popular and well liked by many even though she always treats people with such rudeness? Look, when was the last time she said hello back to you when you mentioned her name? N-E-V-E-R! More »

From Girlybubble: If I could live in a storefront display of any store, kind of like Lindsay Lohan’s Confessions of a Broken heart music video but with less angst and domestic violence, I’d live in Camomilla. As Italy’s sole destination for Hello Kitty, Camomilla’s Milan location has the cutest store displays for the 2009 Autumn/Winter season. But is it really live-able? I don’t see why not, it’s got all the basics covered: Pearls, chandeliers, roses, beautiful shoes and handbags, Hello Kitty — nothing is missing here. More »

From Girlybubble: Lady Gaga and I have tons in common. Nevermind the fact that I’m not a chart-topping pop princess or musically talented. We both love fashion and we both love Hello Kitty. We also love it when both collide. Only, she has the advantage of having a designer create a dress made entirely out of plush Hello Kitty dolls for a recent kawaii-inspired photo shoot for Sanrio. And of course, my complete attention and adoration for Lady Gaga wearing nothing but Hello Kitty. More »

From Girlybubble: Awhile back, I remember stumbling upon StuffOnMyCat.com and seriously dying from the hilarity of it. It’s unfortunate that the new Mimobot Hello Kitty flash drives have no place on that site — because then it’d be about stuff IN my cat. StuffInMyCat.com? Doesn’t sound very appropriate. More »

You have to give it up to the Japanese to be so creative with altering the original shape of watermelons. First, they offered watermelon in a square shape. In May, an enterprising farmer and his wife in Kumamoto, Japan created a heart-shaped watermelon. Apparently these two bitches did it to show their affection for each other.  It took them three years to perfect the heart shape. Talk about perseverance and dedication! More »

From Ziggytek: Two worlds are colliding and the result is something catastrophic, and cute?! Star Wars and Hello kitty are coming together to form the Hello Kitty Storm Trooper. More »

I thought this was good story. Our favorite Ninja Assassin, Rain, was playing soccer with actual Manchester United players and some other kids from a local charity. That’s one interesting way to promote your upcoming movie.

From Girlybubble: I’m having a hard time imaging the possible uses? Is there a strip bar somewhere in Japan where the strippers wear theses? Are there people with actual Hello Kitty fetishes? I really can’t imagine… Hello Kitty race cars, Hello Kitty beers, even Hello Kitty condoms, but this? To each their own I guess… More »

From Girlybubble: I’ve been kinda on this search for the next laptop of mine. My old Dell is a few years old now and it’s only fitting that I get something super kawaii to go with my new job of blogging for Girlybubble. Sanrio, slave driver of the Hello Kitty trademark, does not disappoint. A simple Google search shows at least six variations of a Hello Kitty laptop! Each seem to be around $1500 hundred and only sold in limited numbers. This feels like an impulse buy so I guess I’ll wait till Girlybubble becomes more popular… More photos after the jump.More »

T-ara, the group that has no sense of image or identity, has came out with a new look. Quite a contrast from SNSD which has that one set of navy/marine outfit. Perhaps this is the opposite marketing strategy to blitz people with photos and see what sticks. I use to work in advertising and one of the central rules in that industry is to make sure you have a consistent message. But then again, there’s people who went against the grain and made it work. So we’ll see I guess.

I think I mentioned somewhere before that celebrity dating is always a fun sight. They always lead to celebrity breakups which is even more fun to see! The internet has been buzzing a bit about Jaebeom of 2PM and Sun Ye of the Wonder Girls having possibly dated. This photo was from Jaebeom’s Cyworld page. Does that make it real? No way to know for sure. But I’m thinking if I was a celeb, I would throw random stuff like that online all the time to make sure people keep blogging about me ^^

Nothing on this Earth is as pervasive as Hello Kitty. Can you believe the Royal Mint of England is the latest to succumb to the kawaii kitten? They’ve submitted to Sanrio’s demands of minting Hello Kitty coins for her 35th anniversary or else they’ll suffer the consequences.

There are two things I love almost more than life itself: Beer and Hello Kitty. A recent joint venture between German beer company Beck’s and Sanrio has combined both my loves to make Hello Kitty Beer — or rather, the Hello Kitty edition of Beck’s beer. Given my undying love for oat soda, I am by no means at risk of a shortage of reasons to drink. Hello Kitty beer however, will prevent any sort of shortage, should that day tragically arrive.
