From Rekuru: Popular girl group AKB48 recently announced that they would be starring in a new NTV television show called “AKB600sec.” If you couldn’t tell from the name, each episode will run for a mere ten minutes. Each episode will focus on a different member and in the short time allotted, viewers will be able to follow the idol around as she goes through her schedule—from performing onstage to practicing in the studio, and even shopping. Erina Mano, a popular Japanese idol, has been invited to attend Anime Expo. Mano finally had her solo debut last year in the girl idol troupe, Hello!Project (similar to Johnny’s Entertainment that pumps out boy groups). Anime Expo, which includes many new (and old) anime, introduces singers, etc,etc, will be held on June 30 this year in Los Angeles. A representative explained, “It was appraised that having a solo performance would be better, considering most of the idols within the group are currently busy with other activities.” More »

I think I’m going to dedicate today’s favorites to hot guys. Or at least half of this post anyway. We’ll start with 2PM and their new robin hood looks. Former gravure idol turned singer Leah Dizon has given birth to a baby girl. Early yesterday morning, a few days after the due date, she finally had her baby. Victor Entertainment says that both Leah and her baby are healthy. She plans on posting more details on her official blog soon. More »
