The MAP THE SOUL Tour steamrolled through New York City yesterday and it was the hottest party in town! I’m not just talking about Kero One, Far East Movement and Epik High putting on stellar performances — I’m talking put 1000+ people in a room with lights and huge speakers, have everyone jump around for hours and don’t turn on the air conditioning - cause that’s exactly what happened last nite at Irving Plaza. Chor Moua from Khype.com sent us her review of Epik High’s House of Blues show in LA. She attended with Ningin’s Danny Truong. Chor had to leave for a flight from LA to DC the next morning, but she was able to write up this review while she was on the road! Photos also by Chor! More »

The House of Blues was a sold out event. A sea of Asians lined up outside the venue for what was expected to be one rocking good time on Saturday night. And surely it was. It was my first time doing the whole press access sha-bang, so I didn’t know what to expect, what I’ll do is I’ll give you a concert experience from a fresh, new, perspective. On the get go, I didn’t have to wait in any lines and I was free to roam around anywhere before the show started. Checking in with my ID was really the only gripe , and required further authentication from the Admin here, but I suppose due to the name of the venue its fair. More »

You’ve probably been hearing about Kero One touring with Epik High and Far East Movement on the MAP THE SOUL Tour. It’s no mistake the Bay Area Rapper and Producer was given a coveted time slot on the tour. Kero One worked his way up from the bottom, juggling his day job as web designer while spending nights honing his rapping, producing and DJing skills. Japan’s DJ Deckstream asked Kero One to remix Talib Kweli’s “Keep It In The Pocket” for SOUNDTRACKS 1.5, a compilation project also featuring remix production from DJ Jazzy Jeff. This remix was only available exclusively in Japan — UNTIL NOW! Give it a listen here on Ningin! More »
