Pac Man fans, save this date: Nov. 14. Manny Pacquiao will be scheduled to fight Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Jinra fans, save this date: Nov. 12. (It’s my birthday.) Besides being scheduled on my birthday weekend, there are a variety of reasons why this fight will be exciting. 1) Pacquiao and Cotto are both fighters in their prime. It’s Sakura Matsuri time again! And that means hanami, the act of going out and admiring cherry blossoms. The most famous hanami hotspot in America is the National Cherry Blossom Festival. It’s going on now in Washington, DC, and the blossoms are said to reach their peak this weekend. With clear skies and temperatures in the high 50s Saturday and high 60s Sunday, it’s a great weekend to visit DC! One thing I love about being a SoCal citizen is that my Kpop dreams are never too far out of reach. No, I’m not pregnant with Se7en’s child, but thanks for asking. Instead, I got to see Wheesung, Clazziquai, SS501, Jewelry and other Kpop sensations perform live at the Victory Concert held at the Nokia Theater in LA last night. If one were to paint an image of internationally renowned artist David Choe using only a palette of psychological disorders, you’d have yourself a portrait of schizophrenia, kleptomania, manic depression and sex addiction. Harry Kim’s documentary “Dirty Hands: The Art and Crimes of David Choe” isn’t so much this portrait, but a full-length visual collage of the genius that is David Choe. As an artist who proclaims he, “makes art for people that don’t give a fuck about art,” this documentary is a documentary for people who don’t normally watch documentaries. I’m back from following the JYP Tour from Coast-to-Coast and, wow, I’ve been missing some drama on Ningin!

I’ve read all your comments. First, I understand Team Platinum Heart’s disappointment about not dancing all together on stage with Wonder Girls. I was at the LA show (actually I was at all the shows!) and I know that there was a lot of confusion backstage. I know PH didn’t get to meet 2pm and JYP, but I assure you it was not intentional. In order to make up for it, PH got to hang with WG three times backstage — including in the dressing room with WG while JYP was on stage. It was the best that could be done under the circumstances. In the end, JYP Ent had to put on a show for thousands of people and that had to take priority number one. More »
