Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Wonder Girls concert at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. The lights, the glitz, the crowd! My friend Victor and I drove 2 hours in Los Angeles traffic (and if you know anything about the 101 Freeway, you know that it’s brutal!) and made it to the venue around 6:00PM. Erina Mano, a popular Japanese idol, has been invited to attend Anime Expo. Mano finally had her solo debut last year in the girl idol troupe, Hello!Project (similar to Johnny’s Entertainment that pumps out boy groups). Anime Expo, which includes many new (and old) anime, introduces singers, etc,etc, will be held on June 30 this year in Los Angeles. Jin Akanishi of the Japanese boyband KAT-TUN is set to perform in Los Angeles in June and will stay there until October. The rest of KAT-TUN will be on an Asian tour throughout July and August. Akanishi has been receiving love calls from the U.S., reportedly. After a series of solo concerts, UTB, an American cable channel that focuses on Japanese programs, sent him an offer.
