At the beginning of this month, Microsoft announced that a new advertisement campaign for Japan was going to be implemented. The new scheme involved creating an anime character to show off the new Windows 7. Well, Nanami Madobe, the mascot, is finally here! More »

The sales numbers are in and putting shame to Xbox 360 loyalists everywhere with Final Fantasy XIII selling nearly double the amount of copies on the PS3. More »

From Ziggytek: NPD reports that for the first time in several years, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has earned first place in the monthly gaming console sales rankings. The 360 moved 422,000 units. Meanwhile, over in Japan, Sony’s PSP go continues to be a disaster, with 3-month sales totals of only 17,618 handhelds. More »

It seems our fears have come true and the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will indeed be a crippled one. The Xbox version only runs at 1024×576 with 2xAA while the PS3 version runs at 1280×720 2x msaa. It is far from optimized to be a perfect port, and many compromises have been made. More »

Yesterday was Big Bang’s last day of performing for their 2010 Big Show Concert and it was a knock out!……literally. 60 girls were rushed to the ER after they fainted during the concert. I guess they couldn’t handle their heat if you know what I mean. More »

We are coming close to 2010, which is promising to be a “Golden” year for gaming, with new technologies (example. Microsoft Natal) and innovations making their way to release. I’ve always considered myself a bit of pessimist, so forgive me if I sit over here on the other side of my computer fake sneezing and screaming “bull$h17!” at the top of my lungs. More »

From Ziggytek: FINALLY! After about a week of rumors, Microsoft is finally going to drop the prices on their Xbox 360 gaming consoles. Tomorrow is the official day, and honestly, I’m a little excited. I’ve had experience with both consoles. I opted for the PS3 after my first and only Xbox 360 had the “Ring of Death” but with a lower price point, it may be something I may want again. As for the price drops, the entry-level arcade will still be $200, Elite (black edition) will drop $100 to $300 (from $400), and the Pro will go down $50 to $250 (from $300). More »

From Ziggytek: The Xbox 360 Elite looks awesome with its black shell and silver chrome, but the red Xbox 360 looks so muh better. Thats right, a red Xbox 360. Picasa user ‘Richard’ modified his Xbox 360 to look identical to a rocketship or perhaps a deadly weapon.

The case is bright red with canisters on the side that look like thrusters on a rocketship. At first glance, you wouldn’t even know that it was an Xbox 360. Richard also added pipes on the back of the Xbox, making it look even more like a weapon. The red design looks amazing, and a lot better than the white and green on the original and black and chrome on the Elite. Richard has got some imagination and great design ethics but he has to make sure that his Xbox 360 won’t ever die on him because there is no way Microsoft is accepting a red rocketship/weapon. (More pics after the break.) More »

Windows Messenger babies that is. According to DannyChoo, the two companies have teamed up to make a Windows Messenger version that plays Nico Nico videos. There was a video leak last month (December) featuring the ever so popular (and my wife) Miku Hatsune. The release date for the messenger has yet to be announced but I’m more concerned about whether or not it’ll be available to the US audience.

Nico Nico Douga is the Japanese YouTube; however, what makes it unique is that comments will float over the video as it plays. More »

On Friday October 3, 2008, James Yee and other notables attended an Obama Victory Fund event at the home of Laurie and Scott Oki in Bellevue, WA. The Asian American Finance Committee also headed the event.

Representative Mike Honda was scheduled to attend this event, but he was unable to attend, because he was voting on the Emergency Bill to bail out Wall Street. The first person that spoke at this event was Washington State Senator, Maria Cantwell. She talked about why Obama is good for Washington State and for America. There were several people who were there from the Microsoft community. It was not surprising, because Microsoft is headquartered in Seattle. More »
