Had a chance to talk to JYP today. He’s also seen a lot of the entries and it made him really happy that so many people have entered. Since you guys put him a good mood, he’s upping the prizes. The Grand Prize winners, you won’t just be meeting with the Wonder Girls but you’ll also be meeting with JYP and 2PM.

JYP offered other stuff for the winners as well which I’ll announce tomorrow. I need to double check something first.

While there some of you out there who were unable to attend the Kollaboration 9 event this past weekend, that doesn’t mean you can’t see what went down.

Our blogger Tiffanie J. Lee would never come back empty handed: she brought along photographer Jessica Oh to capture the amazing moments that went down at the Shrine. To say the least, the photos are awesome. Jessica was not only able to capture the performance, but even the red carpet. More »

I don’t know if you guys have caught the theme we’ve been using but contest #1 uses video and contest #2 uses blogs. This contest #3 uses photos and artwork. That makes a trifecta of user generated content. The Wonder Girls series of contest is about rewarding you Wonderful fans for creating media that will help set the stage for the eventual Wonder Girls American debut. The reward of course being personal autographed items from the Wonder Girls themselves, the most valued gifts any fan could receive. More »

Sorry this is late kiddos but here it is and hope you enjoyed your week. A lot of things are happening in the Apop world and for Ningin so be sure to stay tuned to what’s coming up here!

As you know we’ve been holding a lot of contests (again, congrats to the winners), so be sure to enter for your chance to win some exclusive prizes.

As always, enjoi! More »

We’ve already got a lot of good entries. There’s only about seven days left to enter! Remember, last chance to enter is midnight the 26th EST.

First, some clarifications: The grand prize winner, 1st runner up, and 2nd runner up, you’re not just getting one autographed Wonder Girl item, you’re getting at least three things autographed if you win. Also the grand prize winner can get more things autographed since they are meeting the Wonder Girls personally. So I’m saying, if you’re the grand prize winner, it’ll be krazy of you not to bring some Wonder Girl stuff for autographs. More »

I know this was supposed to be announced earlier, but there’s a lot of stuff going on right now. Plus it took us some time to weed out duplicate entries and things like that. Anyway congrats to the following Ningin users: More »

Updates (or Rule Changes)

1. You can submit more than one video. This means you can do one by yourself, one with a group of friends, one with your siblings, one with random people, and however many other combinations exist in your life. This change was implemented due to the voluminous requests for multiple entries. More »

Happy belated Valentines Day everyone! I hope you enjoyed lots of chocolate. But in case you didn’t, there’s always White Day which is a month away.

In case you’ve been MIA, Ningin is still accepting participates for the Wonder Girls Dance Contest. You can read more about it here. Contest closes on February 26th.

As you know, Ningin was at the NYCC’09 to get the scoop on all things Yatterman.  From the Yatterman press conference to the world premiere, we trekked to gather all the information that Arashi and Miike Takashi fans want to know.  Sho Sakurai humbly sat next to his cool director during the press conference, and they talked about their movie making experience right away.  Both Miike-san and Sho-kun addressed the audience with very sincere greetings. Miike-san went first by welcoming attendees: he seemed to have an aura of ultra coolness and told everyone to not catch a cold in this winter weather. Then Sho took the mic and impressed everyone with an English greeting. More »

Valentine’s Day is quickly creeping towards us. Ningin plans to do a special V-Day event with blog articles related to this magic and commercially created day of love. Besides articles, we were trying to think of what else we can do. After the invasion of the Wonderfuls (nickname for fans of the Wonder Girls) these past few days, we got our idea. More »

Everyone knows about the Wonder Girls dance videos on YouTube and other video sharing sites. There must be thousands of them on the interweb… Well, does everyone know that the Wonder Girls have been following this craze? In fact, they love these videos so much that they want to make an official Wonder Girls Dance Video Contest, and they asked Ningin to organize it! More »

Every Monday, for the remainder of February, will be JYP Tour 2009 day on Ningin. All our blog articles will be something related to JYP, Wonder Girls, or 2PM. It has definitely been an eventful week! Not only did we have an interview with Utada, but it was also the world premiere of the Yatterman movie AND the announcement of the partnership between Ningin and JYP Entertainment! If you weren’t around this week, be sure to check them out!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, who knows what will happen next week.

You’ve probably heard by now, JYP and his Wonder Girls will be doing a three city tour starting March 6th in Los Angeles, then Orange County on March 7th, and ending in New York on March 8th.

We know Ningin has a lot of Wonder Girls fans and quite a few JYP and 2PM fans as well. Ningin itself has been pretty good friends with JYP and the artists on his label. So it seems natural that we should do something special for this big event. More »

I’ve always had fun drawing my own anime characters - problem is, I suck at drawing and as I’ve mentioned in previous Anime Moe Modes posts, there’s so much detail that goes into these characters that one misplaced line can throw off the whole image. Looks like the otaku gods have heard my plea - the “Anime Girls Generator” program isn’t the first of its kind, but it’s definitely the easiest to use and has a wide enough variety of eyes, faces, hair, clothes, and accessories to really make some unique characters. Hey, little boys are told not to play with Barbie dolls, so I’ll play dress-up my own special way. More »

Happy February everyone! You know what that means? It’s Valentines season! It may be a fake holiday but everyone and their mom celebrates it. And why wouldn’t they? It’s unofficially chocolate day.

Anyways, if you haven’t noticed, we’ve upgraded our blogs to version 7! Take a look around and tell us what you think.

Here’s this week’s wrap up: More »

Most likely you need to refresh your browser cache by pressing F5 or use a forceful refresh by pressing CTRL+F5.

It’s been almost three months since my last upgrade post. Yea…things keep coming up. The Megaman Movie Trailer, the BoA interview, the End of the Year Special, America’s Best Dance Crew, drunken holiday parties + hangover recovery time, launching ZiggyTek — our gadget site, I was sick (no really I was), etc. In a way, it was kinda a perfect storm of events for Ningin as our growth has been skyrocketing from all those different things combined. Well, not the being sick and drunk part. More »

So as it turns out, Asians are pretty good dancers. Thank you Jabbawockeez and Super Cr3w and all the other Asian crews from the first two seasons of America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV. You’ve completely dispelled a long, long time standing negative stereotype of Asians and you did it in basically one year. That’s the amazing thing to me. Not that other Asians on other tv shows didn’t have an impact. The combination of Jabba’s greatness and the shear reach of MTV provided a perfect opportunity. Funny, what happens when you categorically dismissed 3.5 billion people’s ability to do something.

Since ABDC has a special significance for Asian media, it has a special significance for Ningin. As you’ve noticed, we’ve expanded our coverage of ABDC with two bloggers writing recaps and commentaries. Ningin blogger, Tiffinie Lee will be covering the show live. They’ll be contests, at least two of them, cuz everyone loves free stuff. Of course, we’ll also have stills and videos of the Asian crews in the show. There’s other stuff we’re still trying to confirm, so just expect more than what I just listed. All of this is neatly presented in our special ABDC microsite which you should bookmark for the next 8 weeks!
