Children of Ningin, you are all so devoted to Mother — the Bong Joon-ho film of the same name, that is. Unlike previous films we’ve recently done pin games for, Mother was actually quite the hit among film critics. It shows in this week’s Rottentomatoes score for Mother. More »

Oh, mother. It’s been awhile since we’ve done a film pin game! With Bong Joon-ho’s Mother out in theaters March 12, it’s only fitting that we have a Mother pin game. For those of you who aren’t Mother-lovers yet, the film stars everyone’s Korean celeb crush Won Bin. In Mother, Won Bin’s plays a cognitively impaired individual who gets accused of murder. His mother in the film is determined to prove him innocent. More »

Ninginers, your prayers to Saint John of Las Vegas have been answered…in the form of pin game results. Many of you prayed that this movie would do well but unfortunately, it was yet again another movie that did not. So much so, that Rottentomatoes offers no general consensus. Typically smaller films don’t allow movie critics to watch it prior to its release if they know it’s not going to get sparkling reviews. More »

I’ve been to Las Vegas enough times, but not enough to be called a saint. John Cho is starring in Saint John of Las Vegas, a film coming out Friday, Jan. 29. As big John Cho fans, it’s only fitting that we dedicate this week’s pin game to him. Saint John of Las Vegas is a movie that chronicles the subtle, life-changing journey of a former Vegas blackjack player, who, as a result of circumstance and finds himself back in Sin City. John Cho will star alongside Steve Buscemi and Sarah Silverman as Smitty, the Human Torch. Human torch huh? Hopefully this indie film will be a hot one! More »

If Ningin was one big neighborhood, it seems most of us wouldn’t mind having spies as next door neighbors. Typically, it’s easy to assume that no sane person would want spies for neighbors, but I’m only making this assumption based on the results of The Spy Next Door pin game. Or, I could be totally wrong and it’s actually another movie we had all wished to do well but didn’t. More »

Knock, knock! Who’s there? The Spy Next Door! The Spy Next Door, who? The Spy Next Door pin game! The Spy Next Door is Jackie Chan’s most recent movie where he plays Bob Ho, a CIA spy trying to win over the hearts of his girlfriend’s children. As most action/romantic Jackie Chan movies go, one child puts them all at danger, leaving it up to Bob to save the day in the most hilarious way possible. Since we’re all about everyone exercising their spy skills, you’ll be using your spy guessing abilities to play this pin game. More »

It’s Christmas Day and I’ve got much to squeak…squeal about with the results of the Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel pin game. It seems like a lot of people all had the same thing in common on their Christmas Wish lists. Looking at the results, it appears you all wished to win a Chipmunks pin! More »

In the history of film, there have been many great sequels, prequels and now,Squeakquels. Specifically, the upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel. Now, you might be wondering if the Chipmunks are Asian or what connection they have to Asian pop culture and Ningin. It might hurt some of you to know this but, chipmunks…not necessarily Asian. What’s epic for us is that the Chipmunks Squeakquel movie is teen singing sensation Charice Pempengco’s Hollywood debut. How could we not have a pin game for it? More »

Well my fellow Ninginites, I hope everyone had a great Ninja Thanksgiving. It seems like a handful of us had even more reason to be ninja-thankful this week with the results of the Ninja Assassin pin game. In true ninja-fashion, it was another movie that stealthily surprised us with its Rottentomatoes score. More »

Maybe you saw this coming, or maybe I was extra ninja with this. Either way, we can’t have Ninja Month without having a pin game dedicated to Ninja Assassin. If you’ve stuck around for our Ninja Assassin review, interviews with Rain and Ninja Assassin director James McTeigue and our current Ninja Assassin giveaway, you probably know what Ninja Assassin is about. For those just clue-ing in, Ninja Assassin is about a young ninja (Rain) who turns his back on an orphanage that raised him, leading to a confrontation with a fellow ninja from the clan. The film is one of few that features an Asian male lead…who isn’t Jet Li or Jackie Chan! More »

Since Red Cliff is out today in select cities and because there are currently more Rottentomatoes reviews than you can shake a stick at, we’re early with the pin game results. We’re happy with this because it’s getting people talking. If math is totally your thing, you’ll know that a lot of submitted Rottentomatoes reviews equates to a score that doesn’t fluctuate much. Given the results of this week’s pin game, it’s safe to say that a lot of you are great at guessing pin game scores! More »

With the Twilight sequel New Moon scheduled to release this Friday, Nov. 20, it’s only fitting that we have a New Moon pin game to complement our current Bloodsucker Special. Since this is indeed for Ningin and not our new vampire site SwanDiary, this pin game is slightly human-centric. If you caught my interview with Justin Chon, you’ll know that we’re all super excited about him as Eric Yorkie in New Moon. More »

True, November is Ninja month for Ningin. However, if for some reason I had to replace the ninja theme, I’d go with epic. A lot of epic things are happening this month, and that includes the release of John Woo’s 2-part epic Chinese war film, Red Cliff. Red Cliff is the retelling of the Battle of Red Cliffs, set at the end of the Han Dynasty. It’s also reportedly the most expensive Asian film production of all time — that’s pretty epic. Wanna know what else is epic? The Red Cliff pin game. More »

The Astro Boy film has blasted off into theaters everywhere, leaving us with this week’s pin game results. Astro Boy was yet another one of those films we all had expected to do well, but proved us otherwise. This time around, it was our skeptical pin game players that won. When it comes to remade films, we’re all very skeptical and apprehensive. Perhaps we should take note of that for the next time a classical film is remade into a modern one. This week, Astro boy closed in at Rottentomatoes with 48%. Not bad, but we all wanted better. More »

Imagine a world in which humans coexist harmoniously with androids. It’d be a world in which I’d never have to clean my room ever again or be that friend you call at 3 a.m. to pick you up when you’re drunk because that’s what my android is for. Unfortunately for you and me, this is not our world but that of Astro Boy’s. If you’ve been living under a rock these past few weeks, you’ll know that this Friday will be the theatrical release of the new CGI version of the popular anime, by the same name. Notably, is it highly regarded as the classic anime series that first launched anime into existence. How could we not have an Astro Boy pin game? More »

While you were all taking a nap in your deep space hyper-sleep chambers, Pandorum opened this weekend and managed to snag a 48% on Rottentomatoes. That’s an okay score. Just okay. It seems to be a trend for sci-fi films and reality TV shows to have some element of, “OMG HOW DID WE GET HERE? WHAT ARE WE DOING? HOW DO WE GET OUT OF HERE?” Well friends, only a few made it out alive as Pandorum pin game winners. More »

Many have auditioned for the role of Fame pin game winner, but only few have made it. Don’t let that deter you from achieving Ningin-fame. In my eyes, you’re all famous and you can do no wrong. Unless of course you decide to pursue careers in film and take on projects similar to Fame. Talk about not famous. More »

Ever have those mornings after a long debaucherous night, only to realize you don’t remember a thing? I know I have once or five times. How about waking up only to find that you can’t remember a thing from being inside a hyper-sleep chamber in deep space? Don’t look at me guys, I’m actually not an alien — can’t shed any light on that. Perhaps, the upcoming Pandorum film featuring world-class martial artist Cung Le, will? Le plays Manh, a space crew member that aids Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster’s characters into figuring out what happened while hungover, deep space-style. I can’t promise full space cadet-hood with the Pandorum Pin game, but at least you’ll remember it. That’s how good it is this week. More »

There’s something a little off about the first few seconds of the White on Rice trailer that I think the White on Rice pin game results post will fix. It’s no big deal, just sit back, close your eyes and visualize me as a middle aged Japanese divorcee. Then read this dialogue: More »

Brothers and sisters looking into pledging for the Phi Kappa Kappa Kappa Ningin Pin Gameda house, your Sorority Row pin game results time has arrived. Before I announce our future brothers and sisters, I just want to say that I am very proud of all of you. Over the past year, you’ve been able to distinguish celluloid train wrecks from film masterpieces and vice versa. Like mini-Siskel and Eberts, only younger and better looking. Stronger too, probably. Speaking of strength, Sorority Row closed in at Rottentomatoes with a weak 29%. More »
