Ever since the release of their debut album last year, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the all-female Japanese rock group Stereopony. The group offers a fresh new angle on J-rock, and they have just recently released the promotional video for their latest single entitled Over Drive. More »

I think that Ken Hirai is one of those artists that everyone will agree is great. Although his songs are often edgy and push the limits of conventional music, there is always a universal appeal to his songs. Today’s song of the day is Ken’s 2007 single entitled “Elegy.” More »

The Music Video of the Day comes from one of my favorite bands of all time, the brilliant green! I wasn’t sure on which video to feature today but I went with the first song I’ve ever heard from them, Forever To Me, from their 2002 album The Winter Album. More »

I have a very wide variety of musical tastes, and one genre that I have not highlighted yet is rock. Although I’m not a hardcore J-rock fan, I will admit that I indulge in my occasional dose of it. Today’s song of the day is Aqua Timez’s “Velonica.” More »

Tim Be Told is a 5 piece songwriting power house, whose sound I can’t stop comparing to a more soulful Maroon 5 or The Fray. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to interview them! More »

Today’s Music Video of the Day comes from Japanese artist Tommy heavenly6 (also known as Tommy february6 or Tomoko Kawase of the brilliant green). To be truthful, I had never heard of Polysics before until I read somewhere that one of their members was leaving although right now I can’t remember who. I don’t really know a whole lot about this Japanese group except that they are techno-y. Although this song “Catch on Everywhere” has these weird chipmunk voices, I really like this song. It might have to do with this song being super catchy!!! I also kind of think the voices are cute!!! More »

The Chinese music industry has been somewhat lacking lately, with notable artists such as Leehom Wang and Jay Chou going into a sort of musical remission. Korea seems to be stealing the show, and I was excited to find that JJ Lin had recently released an album back on December 24th. I decided to give it a listen and was pleasantly surprised. More »

There are few artists out there these days that are consistently pumping out great music. With most people, songs are either hit and miss, and it is not uncommon for artists to be famous one day and fade into the shadows the next. YUI is certainly not one of these artists. More »
