English in a KPOP song, when correctly done and which makes perfect sense, can really enhance the lyrics of the song. Especially for those of us who aren’t fluent in Korean (myself included), we love hearing words which we can recognize and this just helps us all bond with the song on a more emotional level. However, sometimes we get the odd occasion where it hasn’t been done to the best standard. Sometimes it’s just strings of English words which are sprinkled on the song that make you wonder why the writer chose those words (or even bothered to include them in the song) or sometimes it’s whole sentences which send the song to the grammar police.
