Upon much thought and speculation, it seems blinking is a far more serious problem than we’d anticipated it to be. Sure, I thought this blinking situation could be easily resolved by posting a weekly wrap-up post featuring every story that was published this week, but then I realized something quite epic: Blinking, happens super often. I can’t even tell you how many times I blink a day. The Mixr solution to excessive blinking comes to you in the form of a new daily featured called, The Daily Mixr. Everyday, we’ll bring you all of the top stories of the day across the Mixr Network of sites. More »

Blink, and you just might miss just about everything thats happened this week. For serial blinkers and lazy people, the weekly wrap-up is just for you. More »

It’s safe to say that November, aka Ninja Month, was the most awesome month for Ningin yet. We had 4 specials - Ninja Thanksgiving, Japan-a-thon, Vampire Special, and Gaming Special. We had 4 site launches, Wirebot for gaming, Swandiary for Vampire entertainment, Rekuru for Japanese Entertainment, and most recently, FlauntMe for Beauty. We had some big interviews - Rain, Boom Boom Satellites, and Takeshi Kaneshiro. And course, tons of giveaways, SS501 album+poster, 4minute album+poster, Red Cliff Movie posters, Ninja Assassin Gear, and Xbox + Wii game sytems. There’s also about a dozen Ninja Assassin movie posters sitting here that needs to be given out…later though too many contests running right now! I’m sure I’m forgetting more stuff. But isn’t that kinda a lot?? I hope you guys enjoyed everything! Not sure if we can continue at this pace forever, but there’s still a lot more stuff on the way! More »

By now most of you know that we’ve giving out game systems to random users. That’s not the only contest going on either. We have Ninja Assassin Gear, Justin Chon autographs on SwanDiary, Swarovski iPhone faceplate on Girlybubble, and ESPN Magazine subscriptions on BlitzNation. If you think that’s a lot, it’s just the beginning! Soon, there will be some sort of regular prize for all our sites like Xbox/PSN point cards on Wirebot, bobblehead dolls on BlitzNation, and so on. If you’re in the city of Rhode Island (why call it a state?) Wirebot is hosting a Guitar Hero 3 Tournament and giving out $100 in Amazon gift certificates. Btw, have you checked out our new Ningin-spin off site for Japanese entertainment, Rekuru.com? Jinra and the Ningin bloggers are hosting a Japan-a-thon special in honor of its launch. Wirebot is going Japanese too. It’s fun when sister sites work together! Expect a lot more of that going forward. Last but not least, we have a cool interview with Takeshi Kaneshiro who’s starring in the new Red Cliff movie out right now. Speaking of movies, I hear Ninja Assassin is coming out this Wednesday. It’s in your best interest to check that out. More »

With the Twilight sequel New Moon scheduled to release this Friday, Nov. 20, it’s only fitting that we have a New Moon pin game to complement our current Bloodsucker Special. Since this is indeed for Ningin and not our new vampire site SwanDiary, this pin game is slightly human-centric. If you caught my interview with Justin Chon, you’ll know that we’re all super excited about him as Eric Yorkie in New Moon. More »

What a week we had on Ningin! I think I might have mentioned this somewhere before, but I got to interview Rain and Director James McTeigue from the Ninja Assassin movie. If you haven’t read it yet, what are you waiting for? There’s not one but two giveaways for it…so far. First there’s the Ninja Assassin gear, and we’re giving our copies of the 28-page Ninja Assassin press junket package. Then we launched a new website, Swandiary, for vampire lovers. Jinra and the Ningin Bloggers put together a fun little Bloodsucker special for it. Speaking of Jinra, her b-day might have been during this past week. Not sure. But I’m sure she’s glad that someone (hint: he was in ninja a movie that’s coming out soon) remembered. So all that was last week. This week, we have another website, Rekuru - for Japanese entertainment, scheduled to launch. And perhaps finally, you’ll see the game system contest we’ve been promising. More »

Interviewing Director James McTeigue was a challenge of a different sort for me. I didn’t know much about him at first other than that he directed V for Vendetta, which so happens to be one of my favorite films. That’s the only movie that’s he directed prior to Ninja Assassin but he’s been part of the Wachowski’s team for a long time and he’s had a role in the making of Speed Racer as well. I’m starting to see a pattern of Wachowski, James McTeigue, and Rain. I hope those three combine to produce movies forever! More »

These days, I’m reading a great book that I highly recommend called Ninginlight. It was written by this super prolific author, Jinra Meyer. This book is seriously so good, you have to read this passage in the book: “About three things I was absolutely certain. The first, SwanDiary is Ningin’s sister vampire site. The second, Ningin is celebrating SwanDiary’s launch by kicking off the Ningin Bloodsucker Special, a vampire-themed week filled with Asian pop culture goodness. And third, I am sure you will be unconditionally and irrevocably in love with all the specials we have planned. It’ll suck…in a good way. More »

From Ziggytek:

Mixr Media announces the launch of SwanDiary.com, a community for vampire entertainment and vampire lovers.

SwanDiary will be reporting the latest Vampire entertainment news from upcoming movies like the Twilight saga, TV shows True Blood and The Vampire Diaries along with book reviews and interviews from authors, actors and even some vampires. We’ll even be investigating why so many love Vampires and if there’s even a possibility they may be real. We’ll also have fun trivia, covering vampire related paraphernalia from around the world and much more. So come join us and share you passion for all things Vampire.

SwanDiary joins Mixr Media’s other community sites, Ningin.com, Ziggytek.com, Wirebot.com, and football community, BlitzNation.com. All communities within the Mixr Media network are tied together via a common login system, which allows users to travel from one Mixr Media site to another and keep the same profiles, friends lists, and other personal information. Hey Jinra, I’mma let you finish enjoying birthday, but with so much stuff happening this week, I just want to do a quick recap of the week so far instead of waiting till Sunday.

In case anyone missed this, we have a Ninja Assassin giveaway going on. It’s all stuff I would totally rock myself. I mean, c’mon, anything that has the words Ninja and Assassin in it is just badass! Tonight Kashem and I get to see an advance screening of the movie and we’ll give you our impressions of it. Tomorrow, I get to interview Rain and the director, James McTeigue, so if any of you Clouds have questions for your Rain man, just post them in the comments or pm me. More »

November is shaping up to be quite a month. We have a new website launching just about every week. The mysterious Swandiary launches this Friday the 13th. We picked that day for a good reason which will be revealed soon enough. We’re also designating November to be the official month of Ninjas, the site’s namesake. In honor of Ninja month, there will be TONS of ninja related coverage and giveaways. What could those giveaways possibly be? You might want to check out the upcoming Warner Bros movie, Ninja Assassin, for some ideas. Then of course, there’s Jinra’s birthday being this Thursday. Expect champagne and special pins that day. The previously mentioned game system contests are schedule to start sometime this week. And if you live in Rhode Island, Wirebot is hosting a Guitar Hero tournament with cash prizes. Sounds random I know, but it’s part of a much bigger plan which we’ll get into later. More »
