A Gallery of Q & A with the guys of WarholSoup

WarholSoup has a sound that is a true infusion of many genres, like pure-rock, reggae, jazz, and more. They formed their band about three years ago and have been playing professionally ever since. You can find their music and performance schedule on myspace. I suggest you all listen to “Catch me if you can”. Their song “Let me love you” and the snippet of “Food for thought” are very jazzclub sexy. The young foursome is doing their best to help shed light on a recent tragedy that was over looked by the mainstream media by performing at a benefit concert tonight. Beethoven once said “Only the pure of heart can make good soup”; Andy Warhol once said “Painting is an excuse to listen to really good music”. Well the maestro and the art genius really must have had these guys in mind when they said those things. R.A.W. Talent at Public Assembly for AM Classic

The sounds of hip-hop, Soul, and a little violin filled the air in one of the trendiest Brooklyn bars, Public Assembly, as Resonating Awareness Worldwide (R.A.W) brought together the coasts for the AM Classic. At first it appeared to be a coastal split with East Coast artists taking up the stage in one room and West Coast in the other but the tech and audio crews created a more harmonious idea. The main room focused on the spinners, scratchers, and MCs mixing their beats with a little freestyling flair. Artists from both coasts came up including Hydroponikz, Magnetic North, the Misnomer(s), and the combo of DJ Dstrukt, Dumbfounded, Youthinasia, and Lyraflyp. The back room had the sounds of live musicians with Heather Park, Cynthia Lin, Kelly Tsai, and Warhol Soup. Filling out the rest of the bill for the night were Jay Legaspi, Deep Foundation, DJ Boo, and Brooklyn’s own Koba.
