The writer responsible for crafting some of the best stories in video game history (Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Trigger), Masato Kato, sent out a tweet yesterday claiming, “With the iPad going on sale, the age of Nintendo is over.” I don’t know what these ex-Square employees have been drinking lately, but whatever it is, the major side effect seems to be spewing nonsense. Megaman holds a dear place in my heart. I remember renting Megaman 2 for NES, and in order to just keep the game 3 days longer, my 6 year old self attempted to fool my mom into returning Snakes Rattle and Roll instead of my favorite robot killer. Even though my plan failed miserably, the memory lives on. With the resurgence of old school gaming possibilities on the Wiiware, Xbox live Arcade, and Playstation Network, us gamers can relive those classic game types in all new games released by the major developers who sparked it all. From Rekuru: After moderate success with their last console the Gamecube, Nintendo seems to have hit the their stride this generation. With their “gaming is for everyone” approach, Nintendo’s changed the face of video games forever and has even managed to woo the Holy Grail of demographics - EVERYONE. But that’s not to say Nintendo is doing everything right. There’s always room for improvement and with that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of 5 things the big N can do to maximize their success this new year. More »

There were many awesome games that were released this past decade and it was hard for me to choose which ones to put on this list. But I limited myself to games that came from Asia (more specifically Japan) and here is the list that I have come up with.
