The award was given for the month of April, and they performed at the Cyworld stage on June 10, 2009. So far it has been heavy competition between the girl bands, especially 2ne1 and AfterSchool. … definitely a lucky person! What a contest! This has definitely been the most popular contest Ningin has ever hosted by a lot in terms of total entries. We had close to 500 entries on the first day alone. A good number of entries also included messages to Utada. I hope you guys know Utada isn’t receiving these messages. However, we’ll send them over to Utada’s publicist but no guarantees she’ll read or respond to them. It’s too bad we don’t have more prizes to give away. We’ll see about getting more when her album comes out. More »

San Jose, Calif. is yet another American city succumbing to the yogurt chain craze with the opening of a Red Mango shop last week. Big freakin’ deal, you say. Expanding yogurt chains are so 2008, Jinra! Not to underwhelm you further, let me just say this: It’s Asian-owned. Ha! I kid, I kid. There’s nothing underwhelming about this particular location because it will be co-owned by none other than Survivor: Cook Islands winner Yul Kwon. What a contest! This was easily our most popular contest of the year! It’s great to see so many people chipping in and doing their part as fans to help their favorite artist.

As I was going through the entries, I wondered if people just uploaded and didn’t bother to tell their friends. See, uploading the BoA videos was a means to an end with that end being, exposing BoA to more people. So I hope you guys went the extra step and told your friends to check out your uploaded stuff. There’s probably a lot more people in America that don’t know who BoA is than people that do. Those are the ones that need to be educated if BoA is to have a better chance of crossing over! *cough MTV Iggy* More »

Voting for the Cosplay Photoshoot Contest is official closed as of 12PM today. It’s been a long week and we’re happy to finally announce the winner! We’ve gone through over 500 contest entries and chosen 50 finalists which is now down to the top three.

Again, the top three will be interviewed by our Ningin Bloggers while the overall best cosplayer voted by the users will receive two super exclusive tickets to the private premiere of the Megaman Movie and to Comic Con in February 2009.

Thank you to those that entered the Ningin-NY Anime Festival Cosplay Photo Contest. We were amazed by your costumes and enthusiasm. Galleries from all three days of New York Anime Festival are online now. We divided the galleries by Day 1 (Friday), Day 2, and Day 3 to make it a bit easier for you to find yourself. Don’t forget to check out other photos from the event.

We’ve gone through over 500 contest entries and chosen 50 finalists. It was quite a debate about who should make the top 50. We gave preference to those that made their own outfits and those that posed well. Well that’s done and now it’s time for you to vote for the winners! Voting will be open until 12pm (EST), Sunday, October 5, 2008 for all registered Ningin users. Each Ningin user can vote for one favorite costume so make sure you check them all out before voting! The winners will be announced 12pm (EST), Monday, October 6, 2008.

The top three cosplayers will be profiled and interviewed by our Ningin bloggers. The overall best cosplayer will also receive two super exclusive tickets to the private premiere of the Megaman Movie and two tickets to Comic Con next February.
