Halloween and the election, what a busy week! Since the election, I’ve been watching CNN and the Colbert Show religiously. I’m so happy that Obama won and can’t wait to see him in action. Btw did any of you guys vote?

Any who, here’s this week’s music round up with a new photo. I figured it was about time to change it up since this old one is so last season.

As always, enjoy.

The Wondergirls, a.k.a. the fabulous five that have taken over the Korean pop world with their bouncy hurricane of perkiness, reported that their leader Min Sun-Ye aced her college entrance exams. Sun-Ye is now officially accepted to Dongkook University for 2009. Congratulations are in order since the young pop princess tried to apply to the University once before but was denied. It is okay though, because we have Intel that Dongkook holds almost impossible standards just to watch its starlet students squirm. Plus we know that Sun-Ye is an exceptional student and held honor titles when she had time to attend class. More news on this quintessential quintet of cuteness is that they have also announced a new reality show called Wonder Bakery, and now released photos from their own Peripera cosmetic line advertisements.

Hello everybody! I’m Erik, a new blogger here! Introductions have never been my thing, so I’ll make this short. I live in New England, in Connecticut. I’ve been into Asian media for quite a few years and I’ve come across only a few people who were familiar with Asian entertainment until just recently. I feel like it’s getting a bit more recognition in other parts of the world, and hopefully by being a part of this site I can take part in it, no matter how big or small! I started out with Japanese music, where I liked the typical popular artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Namie Amuro, and Olivia Lufkin, etc, but that was it. I began to venture into other types of Asian media such as dramas and other forms of entertainment, my obsession as of late being K-pop, with groups and singers like The Wonder Girls, Brown Eyed Girls, Lee Hyori, SHINee, and others.

First and foremost, Happy October everyone. It is Brest Cancer Awareness month so please be sure to remember, recognize or donate. Sankyu!

As promised, here’s a double roundup to make up for the one missed a few weeks ago. Gomen gomen! I hope you enjoy this weeks round up as some of the videos are old and new. I really liked picking out this weeks because I didn’t have to be as super selective.

Our Cosplay Photoshoot Contest is still going on so if you haven’t voted please do before Sunday 12PM EST. There are a lot of amazing cosplayers out there so check them out in our on the NY Anime Festival microsite or our gallery.

The video of the Wonder Girls interview is up! It took us a bit to get the translation and sound fixed. The interview area was about 10 feet from the stage in a little tent so yea, not much we can do about that.

Thanks again to JYP and his company! Also thanks to the interviewer, Soyoung Ahn, and the translation/subbing team, Mia Lerda, David Hou, and Cho Soo Dong.

Enjoy the interview! In case you missed it, here’s the link to our gallery from this event.

Title is pretty self explanatory. 140+ Photos. Included in this gallery are lots and lots of Wonder Girls, lots of JYP, and a good amount of J-Lim, G-Soul, Min. There’s some added atmosphere shots as well. Enjoy!

Photograph credits: Lan Nguyen, Lara Visconti.

One thing of note is we’re trying out a new gallery system. Let us know what you think. Our interview and videos of the performances are coming soon. It took some time to translate and sub them and there were some issues beyond our control. Still, we got some good videos to post later!

Enjoy this in the meantime:

Wow! Just wow. There’s a lot that happened today but I’ll let the other bloggers take care of putting together a full write up. I just want to lay down some quick thoughts down before getting some much needed sleep and introduce some of the videos and photos we have.

The much anticipated MNet 20’s Choice Award finally aired this past Saturday. There were many performances none of which are spectacular but one did catch my attention.

Wonder Girls teamed up with Jun Jin to perform Justin Timberlake – Sexy Back and their hit single Tell Me. Why they had some random FOB singing in English, I have no idea. He didn’t pull it off well and it brought back horrifying memories of William Hung. In addition, the Wonder Girls didn’t do much but take off a silver rain coat that could give someone a seizure. They also didn’t pull off being sexy very well then again any hopes of being sexy were completely ruined by Jun Jin’s engrish skills.
